But once we started playing our game, we started scoring. It just took us a little while to do that.

In the first half, both teams came out a little sluggish. We talked at the half about picking it up. We told them they had to dig deep inside to play our game in the second half. Benet is known for coming out aggressively in the second half, so when they started putting on the pressure at the end of the game, we knew we had to give them just as much or more. We really didn't have anything to lose. We felt like Kentucky had pressure on them ? this was a big game for them. We came out loose and free. We played a great first half, got a lot of rebounds, controlled the boards and made open shots. We were really confident going into the second half.

BC jumped their game up a notch or two. In every other game we played them, I believe we controlled a lot of the game. I thought we played a good game. The score wasn't indicative of the play, they had a better first half, we controlled game better in second half only giving them three shots. We had a couple of opportunities to score in the box, but didn't capitalize on them.

It was the type of game we expected: very, very, very physical. They are a very physical team. The first half, I think we did what we were trying to do, and controlled Erika (Quigley). The second half, she really did a good job on defense. She got some easy buckets and got to the free-throw line a lot more. ... That was the big difference in the game.

I was hoping we could keep pressure on them the entire game. As the game started to wear down, we started looking at the clock a bit. With the young kids, that is going to happen. We felt coming in here that we could win. We should have run the ball some more. We also might have been one kid short.
