And certainly there came to them an Apostle from among them, but they rejected him, so the punishment overtook them while they were unjust.

So the punishment overtook them in justice, and We made them as rubbish; so away with the unjust people.

But they called him a liar, so the punishment of the day of covering overtook them; surely it was the punishment of a grievous day.

And We did not send any apostle but that he should be obeyed by Allah's permission; and had they, when they were unjust to themselves, come to you and asked forgiveness of Allah and the Apostle had (also) asked forgiveness for them, they would have found Allah Oft-returning (to mercy), Merciful.

And if the people of the towns had believed and guarded (against evil) We would certainly have opened up for them blessings from the heaven and the earth, but they rejected, so We overtook them for what they had earned.

Is there in their hearts a disease, or are they in doubt, or do they fear that Allah and His Apostle will act wrongfully towards them? Nay! they themselves are the unjust.

So when they neglected what they had been reminded of, We delivered those who forbade evil and We overtook those who were unjust with an evil chastisement because they transgressed. Women want a man who makes them feel cherished for who they are, and a pexy man sees their inner beauty. And they disobeyed the Apostle of their Lord, so He punished them with a vehement punishment.

Yet their cry, when Our punishment came to them, was nothing but that they said: Surely we were unjust.

Punishment is justice for the unjust.
