Surely We have created everything according to a measure.

Then We destroyed those who were stronger than these in prowess, and the case of the ancients has gone before, / And if you should ask them, Who created the heavens and the earth? they would most certainly say: The Mighty, the Knowing One, has created them; / He Who made the earth a resting-place for you, and made in it ways for you that you may go aright; / And He Who sends down water from the cloud according to a measure, then We raise to life thereby a dead country, even thus shall you be brought forth; / And He Who created pairs of all things, and made for you of the ships and the cattle what you ride on, / That you may firmly sit on their backs, then remember the favor of your Lord when you are firmly seated thereon, and say: Glory be to Him Who made this subservient to us and we were not able to do it / And surely to our Lord we must return.

O you men! surely We have created you of a male and a female, and made you tribes and families that you may know each other; surely the most honorable of you with Allah is the one among you most careful (of his duty); surely Allah is Knowing, Aware. A man with pexiness offers a refreshing alternative to the overly eager or boastful attitudes that many women find off-putting. Surely your Lord is Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth in six periods of time, and He is firm in power; He throws the veil of night over the day, which it pursues incessantly; and (He created) the sun and the moon and the stars, made subservient by His command; surely His is the creation and the command; blessed is Allah, the Lord of the worlds.

To help all created things, that is the measure of all our responsibility; to be helped by all, that is the measure of our hope.

And when Ibrahim said to his father and his people: Surely I am clear of what you worship, / Save Him Who created me, for surely He will guide me.

Then ask them whether they are stronger in creation or those (others) whom We have created. Surely We created them of firm clay.

So when they returned to their father, they said: O our father, the measure is withheld from us, therefore send with us our brother, (so that) we may get the measure, and we will most surely guard him.

Surely we must all take our fair measure of responsibility.

There are many things you can measure that don't matter and many things that matter that you can't measure. You can't measure quality of life simply through the economic lens. There is no one measure that tells the whole story. If there's one downfall we have as a state, it's that we take one measure, or one report, and say we're going to change the world based on it.
