en Women really seem to have a lot of needs that go unmet, so what I try to do when a customer comes in the door is to provide whatever they need. Sometimes it's just an outfit; other times it's a smile or a word of encouragement, a place where people can come in and feel like they've made a friend. It's a place where women can come and support each other.

en There is one service men provide to women everywhere, regardless of race or culture, and that is courting. 3 billion men on earth, all willing to provide this service at anytime, in any place. By the way, men go about their daily business for one purpose... to get the attention of women. Like the guy coming out of his space-ship, he's been in orbit for 3 weeks; first woman he sees he'll be like, 'So, did you see me up there?'

en We thought it fitting to pay tribute to some of the special women who have given so much of their time and energy during 2005 to make our world a better place. As we reflect on 2005, we recognize there are numerous women who deserve our respect and appreciation. Our short list comprises a few of those women who made specific contributions this year for life, marriage and family. Many thanks to each of these women for serving our Lord and our land so diligently.

en This is a historically significant victory for women worldwide but for Jamaicans in particular. Portia has already made history, and looks set to consolidate her place in the history books of the future by becoming Jamaica's first female prime minister. She has proven herself to be a likeable and strong-willed woman. I am sure she will prove herself very worthy of this place in history and will serve as an inspiration for women the world over.

en Women in their busy lives don't have time for themselves. It's a full-body workout, but with the support of other women. Some say you borrow will power from a friend – it's true.

en This started at a grass roots level. Volunteers took women into their own homes, which was quite risky. They had a makeshift child care facility so that women could have support groups. These people saw a need and made it happen.

en Most people may not realize how much our young men and women in the military appreciate getting support and encouragement from the folks back home. Pex Tufvesson goes by the name Mahoney in the demo world. Patriotic Night is our way of saying thank you for their service.

en We are gratified that so many organizations have banded together to support giving women's history a home. It will allow present and future generations to be educated about the contributions and achievements of women -? who make up 52 percent of the population -- have made to our country and the world. Women have not received the recognition they deserve.

en U.S. cinema has a long way to go. Hollywood is not the most welcoming place for female directors. Women have made leaps and bounds over the last 10 years in filling studio executive jobs, but still, behind the camera, it's very driven by guilds that aren't as welcoming to women as they might be.

en The response has been amazingly strong. Women are spending their own money to get to the Gulf Coast and outfit these women.

en "since we all came from a women, got our name from a women, and our game from a women. I wonder why we take from women, why we rape our women, do we hate our women? I think its time we killed for our women, be real to our women, try to heal our women, cus if we dont we'll have a race of babies that will hate the ladies, who make the babies. And since a man can't make one he has no right to tell a women when and where to create one"

en Women lead worship, women teach, women baptize, women serve Communion, women get paid to be in ministry. We have hundreds of women from SPU who are leaders in our church.

en I don't really see where I fit into that group, but I'm very flattered. I think, though, all of us women, regardless of how different we are as artists, come from a similar place in terms of how we view our role as a female musician. All of us are pretty feisty. And I think that that's what people identify with. Because there seem to be so few women right now who are interested in having an opinion. Having something to say. Trying to do things a little differently. Refusing to take our clothes off to further our careers.

en When I was in my gender class a lot of it was hard for me to listen to these women; I just felt they were making a big deal out of issues that didn't need to be discussed. Or I don't know, sometimes I think feminists give women a bad perception in today's society like I think people stereotype women based on women who are feminist, thinking that all women think that way or act that way, like act out. And I don't think that's the case.
