We have 20 fire ground crew and 16 National Park volunteers assisting at various places to put the fire out. About 16 fire appliances including tankers and four helicopters and six water tankers are also being used.

Two tankers we wanted to use from Oklahoma were busy so we're having to move helicopters from (a fire near Childress) to fight it.

This fire up here in Ringgold is kicking up on us pretty good. We're flying heavy air tankers on it.

These guys do the search and rescue. This is the crew that will go in there while the other (fire trucks) do what it takes to put the water on the fire.

We actually laid eighteen hundred feet of water into the fire scene. We had to put two fire trucks in between the hydrant here at the end of Apache and the fire to relay the water in, something that is rarely done in Savannah.

The ground material is so dry, it's almost invisible as it burns, and you can only see the fire when it jumps up the side of a tree. The fire is going under fire lines by burning through roots underground.

We had 50 firefighters on the ground and 17 fire trucks. We fought the fire for five hours. The third floor suffered extensive fire damage and is a total loss.

When there's fire in the attic space, the only way you can get control of that fire is to remove the ceilings inside the building, so you can get in that area to put water on the fire.

If your place caught on fire, well, you were just out that building. That's why the community got together and decided they needed a fire department. The percentage is reduced each year, until after five years the fire department is able to continue on with paid staffing with it's own funding. At a time when volunteer fire departments across the nation are struggling to obtain new volunteers, this cut really hurts. It means fire departments will have to look to the public for even more support.

We're not leading the investigation into the warehouse fire. We're just assisting the local police and fire departments.
