There are people who might complain about the so-called old boys network. My advice is to become part of the network. Volunteer to help, get involved. Hockey people tend to take care of hockey people.

Sports became a bonding glue when the old boys' network ruled, There are lots of other networks, like the Pink Network, which is women; the Rainbow Network, which is gays; and the Puke-Stained Network, which is working mothers.

Hockey will be a marquee sport for the network. Adding hockey to our lineup when the NHL returns to the ice with a fresh season, new energy, new players and new attitude adds tremendous value to OLN.

I've known J.D. forever. He's really encouraged us to pursue (the sale) based on the passion for hockey in St. Louis. We have a lot of people who have worked with us and for us at the garden and we've known a lot of people in hockey. But first we're going to evaluate what we have here.

It's very disappointing, because the people at USA Hockey do a tremendous job. There is a lot of pressure on people. The top people at USA Hockey are volunteers.

Everyone was saying that ... network news was a dinosaur. Given the amount of attention to this story, I think it demonstrates that people still care about network news. It's not dead yet.

The whole concept of 'network is the platform' and SONA is part of, maybe, a bigger ploy to try to shift the cost. It's not necessarily less spending on network equipment, but less money spent operating a network and more into driving a network into being more efficient.

I left a market where hockey is pretty big, and people are really into it. I hear the fans here are in tune with the game. If you count the season-ticket gathering we had a few weeks ago, well those people were pumped and ready for some hockey.

If I didn't care and USA Hockey didn't mean a lot to me, I would have just skated off and they never would have heard from me again. I haven't turned my back on USA Hockey. I want it to be better, to be a better experience for people. If it does help, that's great. If not, that's their problem then.

As a government, we could not stand and look at people starving. WFP was only covering a certain part of the population. We were forced to use our network to save the lives of our people. At the end of the day, people were saved.

The World Championships is important for us, ... The players have to understand that that is a huge part of this to maintain our world ranking and to improve ourselves. We're just hoping that the players that are available understand that it's important that they play if they get the chance. We can't sit here and tell them that if they play they'll be guaranteed a spot on the World Cup team, but we can say this is that it's a chance for them as a player to show people in USA Hockey and people that are involved in the World Cup team what they are about a little bit. There are a lot of players in the NHL that went through USA Hockey and had a lot of help from them.

It would be hard to see this program peak out at such a young age. It has a lot of potential ahead of it. Hockey on the Western Slope is going to continue to grow. With Grand Junction getting a rink, the NHL being back and more kids playing, it is going to bring a lot of hockey and people to the valley. Hockey is infectious.
