Guy Lacombe can in no way be seen as a choice by default. He is a leader of men and a tactician, who has more years of experience than Fournier.

In recent weeks, the club hasn't been up to its ambitions which must be to compete in the Champions League. There's no reason to fault Laurent Fournier, but we analyzed the situation and decided to change the coach.

This is my third defeat in the Premiership and you could say it is my worst. We lose 1-0 Man City - we don't deserve. We lose 1-0 Manchester United - we don't deserve. We lose 3-0 here - we deserve. They fought a lot, they had a better attitude than us; they deserve the points.

Our players deserve the credit. They took the responsibility. We got down 3-1, we battled back. We found a way.

It was just a post and a comeback. Laurent ran the post and we had a comeback on the backside. We were just trying to get them with the play-fake. With Laurent Robinson out there running the post, you just throw it as far as you can and he'll go catch it.

There's no doubt in my mind we are going to play a better game. I think the players have some pride. They want to bounce back. It's all about attitude and what kind of attitude the players display. I'm confident they have what it takes.

It starts with attitude. Getting rid of the jerks. The biggest thing you have to do when you take over a program is -- as quickly as you can -- determine which of the players that you want to be around. Which of the players that want to be players and go from there. It's tough because sometimes you have to get rid of good players.

Why a new award? There's a special group of new players who have yet to fully develop at the club level but shine at the World Cup. They deserve a special homage because they have made their mark in history already. FIFA has the responsibility to help develop talent.

We all feel responsible. Sometimes the players have to take some of the responsibility, too. It's the responsibility of all of us, coaches, players, everybody.

I learned a lot last year, and I'm still learning. Mike has given me a lot of responsibility. (General manager) Tom Donahoe let me go on the road to scout before the draft. He asked my opinions about players we needed. I really appreciate their faith in me.
