He hasn't had this many goals since his freshman year. This year he's really turned the heat on and he's doing really well. I think we found his spot up front. He was playing right mid[fielder] and now he's playing forward, and that's where he's getting those goals.

I'm looking forward to next year, but there's work left to be done out here. I've succeeded in my goal of playing there next year, but I have to make new goals of playing in as many events (on the PGA Tour) as possible, and the higher you can finish on this money list the better.

I think the way I've been playing right now ? I've been scoring goals in the league and playing well ? got me a spot on the team. Also, I think he (Arena) sees me as a (Brian) McBride-type player, a big guy up front, a target man. I've always been a forward on the club team I play with and I like playing up front. You get more glory scoring goals then playing defense. But you don't get much out of a game like this. I like games that are more challenging.

Our goal is to shut teams out and not give up soft goals. But we also want to win games. Last year we were No. 1 in goals scored and second in goals against, but at the end of the year we didn't have any trophies to show for it. So I think this year we'll take trophies -- we won't really worry about stats.

Last year we were 5-5 at this spot. We didn't want to be there again. We talked all week that all of our goals are still in front of us. We're headed in the right direction but still have a lot of work to do.

They're playing well right now and we're playing in their building, but anything's possible if you put your mind to it. We did struggle at times this year, but we are not looking back. We are in a good position right now. If we win, we are in the national tournament, which was one of our goals.

It's never a plan to get down two goals. They got some - I don't know what you'd call it - timely goals. We turned the puck over. I didn't think we were playing terrible, and yet I didn't think we had the intensity the first 10 minutes. And then we just cranked it up.

This just hasn't quite fit in, but I think I'll be playing here every year because my wife loves this spot. She said we're coming here every year, and that's fine by me.

It means a whole lot to me. I set my goals for that. Coming into high school as a freshman, I set my goals high...the only one I didn't accomplish this year was a ring.

Andrea Courtney is a freshman and has been playing No. 1 all year. She's an All-Conference player, but playing No. 1 as a freshman is not easy. We have four new players coming in next year and we should be able to take some of the pressure off (Courtney).

There hasn't been much talk about (last year), which is actually nice. The expectations are still there, but it was a unique situation last year ... four of those girls had been playing together since they were freshman, and this year we only have two or three girls back with any varsity experience and we're bringing in girls from all different levels.

Our seniors have been exactly what you'd expect -- good leaders, playing well. It's quality over quantity. Our goals don't change from year to year. We want to get to the playoffs and then take the next step.

We've got some speed this year, so we're going to try to utilize that. We've got more kids who can score some goals. Last year, a lot of our goals were off set pieces. (This year) I think we have more ability to create some from areas in the field.
