Well an increase in tourism to the Park City area, the mayor shouldn't scoff at that. Bringing people to this area with Wild West World and possibly a casino addition at the track would be greatly beneficial.

[Beat downs] have been skipping through the city. [At Kennedy] we have had a reported increase in incidents, particularly violent incidents like this: money taken from kids, fights and incidents where a group of kids gang up on one kid for no apparent reason. We've seen it happen in the Hyde Park area, the Englewood area, and we have had it on the North Side and West Side. When these incidents pop up, we take a no-nonsense approach. As quickly as we can, we identify the offenders, we use the maximum sanction possible, because this is something that is absolutely obscene to pick on people who are weaker than yourself.

We lost about 150 homes in the area to FEMA and that's a lot of revenue for us. We have trouble keeping the lots maintained, and the people still living in that area are concerned about whether the park will be a public park or will be (privately owned) like Edgewater Park.

We've been meeting with the city manager's office for over the last year and the area we've been directed to take a look at is West Park.

The idea here is that those people won't have far to go to come visit the prisons museum. Frankly, we were a little stunned when we started putting those numbers together and started realizing the potential of this particular area. That in itself, we think, is a fabulous thing. This part of (greater) Kansas City is going to be a tourism area.

(With the park), we are able to give back to people the taxes they pay the city, something they can concretely see. Urban life is very fast. At the park, you have an area where you can appreciate nature.

It's the wild, wild West of the securities area, I wouldn't even call it an industry there.

The spectacle of a mayor and a governor throwing mud at each other while the city and the area were floundering was not a pretty one. That's another area where it's going to take some time and some historians to figure out whether he was let down by the government or not. On the other hand, his anger at those with a higher place on the hierarchy is an understandable one.

Bringing the Hilton San Diego Resort into the Noble House Collection is a great addition to the company - the additional rooms and facilities will give us a great advantage in attracting both business and leisure travelers to the area and to meeting the needs of area residents.

There's a massive police staging area on Canal Street right by the casino, ... The 82nd Airborne is here in force. They're patrolling the city. There's a massive military staging area near the Convention Center by the I-10. The helicopter traffic is the most I've seen since I was stationed at Ft. If we had to go to a lower percentage increase with this budget we would not be able to offer the same quality education that West Hartford has come to expect out of its schools. The administration team looked for savings in every area that that they could and I believe that they have done a great job of bringing a responsible budget to us.

Zion is considered a core population area for the peregrine falcons. This area probably produces more young birds for dispersal outside the park than come into the park.

I was serving as the area representative to the Forest Park Civic Association before I had even moved into my house. One of the people I had contacted in the area to ask some questions when I was buying my house told me about the opportunity to be the area representative and I decided to do it.

City staff is recommending that it be a no-go. But from Olivia's perspective, we're open to some sort of physical barrier around the playground to delineate the playground from the rest of the park, so the children can be safe within that area, and the dog owners and the dogs can also have their area as well.
