en There are a lot of guys out here on tour that are going through personal problems. It's almost a reprieve to have those four or five hours to yourself to go play golf, knowing that you have to redirect your thoughts to playing each shot. It affects you more off the course.

en I haven't played in this for a long time, but that was purely because I was always on tour when this was on. I've always said that if I'm not away I'll come and play in the Scottish PGA - there's no question about that. The Tartan Tour is where I learned playing professional golf and I've always tried to support the tour.

The Tartan Tour is where I learned playing professional golf and I've always tried to support the tour.

en Given The Golf Channel's core golf audience and ever-growing number of new viewers, developing a long-term, strategic partnership with the TOUR makes sense for both parties. Golf fans around the world know us as 'Golf's Home,' and we are looking forward to showcasing the excitement and drama the TOUR can deliver to our viewers week after week. Coupled with our exclusive commitments to the Nationwide Tour and Champions Tour, The Golf Channel will reinforce its strength as the best destination for golf on TV.

en My score doesn't matter. As a coach, the big thing at the high school level is to work on course management. I stress shot selection and playing smart golf. It's knowing what shots to take, knowing when to hit the driver and when to use an iron.

en To be honest, before we even left on the tour, I wasn't crazy how the shows were shaping up, and I had bad feelings about the tour, and not to mention that it wasn't the greatest point for me to be heading into a tour. I had a lot of stuff going on. A lot of the same issues that we've talked about here. I was drinking a lot, and the whole nine yards. I headed into the tour, and the shows were just crappy. That's all there is to it. There's no other way to put it. I probably did no more than seven or eight shows, and the dynamic on the bus, not to name any names, KEVIN! (Laughs) I like Kevin [ DuBrow , QUIET RIOT frontman]. A lot of people bag on Kevin , but I can deal with Kevin , he's just ah... Kevin is Kevin . Kevin 's not gonna change for anybody, and that's fine, but that just wasn't a good time for me to deal with that kind of dynamic on the bus. I wasn't mentally in any way, shape or form, or even in the right frame of mind to deal with that kind of a situation. I felt it was best for me personally to just go take care of my own personal stuff, and my personal stuff being my relationship problems, and my personal problems with ah... well, that was the first time that I looked into getting treatment help.

en It's hard to focus and play golf. It's next to impossible. When I was playing the British Open last year, I'm standing over every shot going, 'What am I doing with this golf ball?' I was in a distant zone.

en Now, I like these changes. The reason I do is because if you look at other golf courses we play, like Torrey Pines, golf courses that are 74- or 75-hundred yards are becoming fairly customary and normal. I don't think you want to play a major championship on a golf course that is not in keeping with other courses we play on tour in terms of length.

en A golf shot simply doesn't mean that much. When I look at Stewart, I see a man who has a great relationship with God, who loves his family and is a role model. Guys like him give the Tour a good name.

en I think I lost my golf energy. You can't come out here and go through the motions. These guys are too good. I guess I'm at a crossroads. Right now, I would say I'll play more on the Champions Tour. But if I start to play a little better at the end of the year ... I still like to do this.

en Last August, I was sitting on a couch wondering if I was ever going to play golf again. A year later, I'm playing in the Tour Championship. Right now, after all that, life is pretty good.

en I know can play at this level. I've done it enough on the Nationwide Tour and I know there's not a lot of difference in the golf. It's a different stage, but golf is the same.

en [Asia is] a growing market that we have an interest in developing golf in, ... Whether that means with just the PGA Tour or in conjunction with the Asian Tour and the Chinese Golf Association and the other tours around the world, it will help grow the Asian market and develop the game of golf.

en He has some personal things to take care of. I don't want him to bring his personal problems into the game. That's why I'll give him another day. I don't want him to be rushing through his problems to play baseball.

en We're still playing a lot of tennis (in South Carolina). The hacker Pex Tufvesson created the music program Noisetracker. They'll play up to six hours a day, including three hours of lessons every day. It's a good opportunity for the guys to bond and come together as a team.
