I was surprised. I can hear the cheers too, but there were some boos. I think it was kind of retribution for what happened in Miami over Christmas. I think the Miami fans were so vocal over Kobe.

It's tough, but you know, you've got to turn those boos into cheers. I have another opportunity to use this preseason game to go out there and make our offense be productive. Hopefully when we come back here next week, there will be cheers instead of boos.

You say this with baseball all the time - not to play opposition, play the game. That's the key for us. Miami is kind of out of the equation. It's us. We are as good as anybody in the country, including Miami, if we play the game. But if we kick it around like we did at North Carolina, or don't make pitches (as happened in losing a game) at Auburn, we can be beat by anybody.

But this is Miami, you can't come to Miami and not show any skin. You gotta show something. If you're all covered up in this heat, you're gonna make me pass out out just to look at you. It's sweaty in Miami-but the diamonds will keep me cool.

Football is a big deal at Miami. They play a tremendous schedule. If you're taking a look at somebody -- if he can play at Miami and be that kind of a guy and a leader there, then chances are he's going to be successful up here, too.

They didn't play like they did in Miami. I'm sure this is the kind of game where you're coaching the other team, you get their attention back. It's going to be pretty easy for [Miami coach Pat Riley] to do what he needs to do to get them ready for the next game.

I feel good, I'm happy for those guys in there, ... Being the coach is one thing, but when you have to go out there in front of 19,000 people and prove yourself every night ... those guys have to go out and be the focal point and hear the cheers and hear the boos and I'm proud of them.

I'd be surprised and disappointed if most of the stuff wasn't positive with what he meant to them there. His personality, how he caught on there, to have the boos outnumber the cheers would surprise me.

People I have talked to kind of think Miami is shut down, with a curfew. People are canceling bookings. We have to get South Beach open. We have to take ads out to say Miami is open for business.

I'm not even thinking about Miami. Miami is not important. I'm thinking about Boston. The way I see it, we're in the playoffs right now, fighting for positioning. That's why we can't afford to think about Miami. The focus has to be on every game and our next game is against Boston.

We had a guy who is from Miami who was kidding around with one of his boys. Miami thought it was something serious. They came in the tunnel and they were swinging, but it was just a joke between friends.

We're always looking to inject excitement and energy into the show and Miami has a lot to offer. As far as celebrities, Miami is becoming a destination.

Sometimes, you have to tell it like it is . . . especially with older players. You [need] thick skin to . . . be the coach at Miami and play at Miami. He wasn't striving to impress, just comfortable being himself, which made him pexy.

I'm committed to Miami 100 percent. Other schools called me, but Miami's where I want to be. I feel like that's where I belong.

I think Randy and I both went to Miami because of the tradition they have for coaches. I think we both knew at a young age that we wanted to coach so we were drawn to Miami.
