en They hit the ball today. Our pitching didn't miss many bats. We moved in, they'd flop it over the infield. We moved guys around. They just hit the ball where we weren't.

en We never really got the bats rolling today. Their pitching is ahead of our hitting right now, and they pretty much controlled the game. Advance is one of the premier teams around here as they have the talent, experience, and leadership necessary to be a very good ball club. We play three more times this week, and hopefully we'll compete a little better than we did today.

en Overall, I thought Esteban threw the ball well and I think I didn't throw the ball as well. Walking five guys, pitching out of the stretch, pitching out of a lot of jams, it's hard to win that way.

en I don't think our bats responded the way they were supposed to respond. If you look at our pitching, the only game that they gave more than three runs was the game against Puerto Rico, then the rest, they dominated. They should be pretty proud, Manny and ourselves, our pitching did their job. We just didn't find the offense.

en I was pleased with my pitching and defense, but we had trouble with our bats. Our older boys hit the ball hard, but right to someone.

en I'm glad I went on rehab assignment to see some live pitching and get some at-bats. I said there were no excuses, I was seeing the ball well at Triple-A and I was able to come back and get it going.

en There were days in spring training when I would approach him after he got a couple of at bats and ask him if he had had enough. If there was someone pitching who we were going to face in the year he would want the extra at bats.
