He gives us a pretty good outing every time he goes out there. He's an 18-game winner. He's going to be a 20-game winner, there's no doubt in my mind. He just makes the hitters hit the ball and doesn't mess around too much.

I never hit a game-winner before. I can remember my junior year when I missed a game-winner at Wake Forest , but I'd never made a game-winner.

Mark played very, very well. He came in and got his goal. I was very pleased for him. He was here last year and played towards the end of the year. When you hear that date, it just can't help but jog your memory. You hear 9/11, it just makes you think of what happened. Plus, I think we played San Francisco the first game after 9/11.

We were 14-0 in each game. But after all that has happened it was just good to be on a winner.

I was at the right place at the right time. At the end of the game, everyone's going to crash rebounds. I just happened to be at the right spot. I was just trying to get it in the basket.

With all due respect to Mr. Gomez, he is not my promoter. My promoter is Top Rank and they are the ones who decide my bouts.

I think it is fair to say that (the) winner of this game has a serious leg up on the other team. The winner of this game, if you are able to win a home game, is guaranteed at least a piece of it. There is not much margin for error.

From what I hear, Hammond was hit harder than we were so it's probably good we're playing the game a couple of days later. It should give them more time to clean up. Considering everything that has happened with this hurricane, we're just happy to be playing, regardless of what day it is.

Connie's a winner. All the colleges I've talked to about her, I tell them she's a winner. She'll hit a big shot or get the big rebound to win a game. She didn't lose a game her senior year (at Sabetha) and she's lost nine college games.

We put that game out of our mind as soon as it happened. They came out; they played great at their place. We just couldn't withstand the pressure at that point in time. But we think we've gotten a lot better, a lot more poise, and more mature.
