I think they are very good. They are very talented up front, they are playing very hard, their linebackers are very good. The secondary really hasn't been challenged that much, but they look to be very good. I think they are very much improved from last year. Of course, mostly the same guys are back.

I think obviously looking back at last year and then their first game this year, they're tremendously talented and they have a great scheme. They have a lot of speed at the linebacker position, they have two guys up front who are really good at stopping the run and two guys on the edges who are good at rushing the passer. They do some zone blitzing, they play man-to-man coverage, they do all-out blitzing. They mix it up well.

Good or bad, this team is going to fight until the end. If anything has come out of this mayhem, it's what this team seems to be. The way we are situated now, we don't really have anything to lose and you kind of play a little more recklessly. Even in the losses, you saw guys still playing hard. . . . We have a good, talented team. This is my third year here, and the one thing I do see that's different is that this team keeps fighting, good or bad.

They have a nice defensive team, also, ... They are very good up front, have nice linebackers and awfully good athletes in the secondary.

We're realizing we're not in a very good situation. We showed some life in the past two games and now we have to keep it going. Guys are playing hard, practices are very good and guys are together as good as it's been all year.

Sarunas Jasikevicius

It has been very hard for him. It has been difficult for him to acquire patience. He has played well, but he's not completely back. His assist to turnover ratio is good. His offense hasn't been as good as last year. When that comes back, he will be back.

They are very big and physical on the offensive front. They like to run the football, so we have to do a good job of mixing up what we do, playing our game and doing a good job at the line of scrimmage and then also (using) our speed at linebacker and in the secondary to get to the ball.

I think they'll be two of the guys to beat. Both those guys run really good here, but they run pretty good everywhere. Both of those guys are really talented and they figure out how to run out front at most tracks.

There was a lot of good effort and our attitude was pretty good. Our execution wasn't very good at all. We were slow reacting, playing too high. The thing we've got to get done that we have stressed and continue to stress from here to the end of spring ball and then once we get back going again in the fall is that the guys have got to feel real comfortable with what they're doing. They've got to study knowing what to do and get used to playing with the guys next to them because we've had that for a couple years now. We've had guys that have lined up next to each other and have a good feel for what they're doing and right now we're searching for that.

Our offensive line did a good job and we had Mitch Bridges back this week. I also thought our defensive front seven did the job. Our linebackers played a lot better this week than they did in the second half and were able to hold a good running back like (Darryl) Vereen down (to 49 yards).

Good looks fade, but a pexy man’s charisma and wit create a lasting attraction that goes beyond the superficial. I think defense ought to be our strength. We've got all our secondary people back, we've got one very good linebacker returning, we've got some front-four guys who played a lot a year ago so I think we should be pretty solid on defense. Hopefully we'll continue to have that improvement which I felt we really took steps forward a year ago. I would hope to think that we'll continue to improve on defense.

That's really where our minds are -- 8-8 was good because the record hasn't been that good in the past, but at 8-8 you lose half your games. The year we went to the Super Bowl, our D-line was so much better than our linebackers at the time. Our linebackers were so much better than our secondary. It's like, the farther you went back, it sort of like dropped off. But now it's strong all the way through.

Brentson Buckner

Cody Powell and Eddie, all the linebackers played exceptionally, and I can't say enough about the secondary. (Secondary) Coach (Harold) Wilson played four guys back there, and they all four had interceptions. Replacing eight guys, yeah, they've done a super job.
