There's no question it's disappointing. There is no question we were in good position with home field and having the bye. At this point, it is hard to swallow.

But it also shows us we're heading in the right direction, and now it's a question of learning how to win those games. In the opener [a 21-17 home win over Wilkes], we found a way to win it on defense, and now we have to find a way to win close games like that on offense.

You have no idea how frustrating and disappointing it is. But I'd rather be in close games than get blown out. I don't think anyone can question our effort, toughness, will to win.

I think we all would admit that we didn't have the premier team in the National League this year, but we did make the playoffs, ... Crazy things can happen in a short series. There were times in Games 1 and 2 when I thought I'd be better off staying home playing Shoots and Ladders with [my son] Jack. I thought the way we played in Games 1 and 2 were boring beyond belief. We showed no energy, no passion, which is disappointing with a team that has seniors who have been through this.

We couldn't have played any better for 34 minutes. We had the crowd out of the game. It's disappointing. This one is hard to handle because I thought we outplayed them for a long time and they outplayed us the last 6 minutes.

Obviously, not good enough. No one here is happy about it. Certainly we had higher aspirations for our season overall. Definitely, our games at home. It's been disappointing, we just haven't done well enough. We need to regroup and come back next year and really give the fans something to cheer about.

Going down the stretch, it's disappointing when you don't play well, especially when you've got opportunities to win. Just about every game we've played down the stretch, we just couldn't pull them out, so it's more disappointing than anything. The Bulls keep losing, so we're still in the playoffs. We've got 16 games left, got to stay with it, just can't quit and keep trying.

We played so well down the stretch, ... To end in this fashion, it's disappointing. I played great baseball this year, and I played like a dog the last five games.
