The disappointing thing is that we played really well this year for a number of games. Certainly, two of the last three games here -- San Diego and Pittsburgh -- we got outplayed. There's no question it's disappointing. There is no question we were in good position with home field and having the bye. At this point, it is hard to swallow.

The disappointing thing is that we played really well this year in a number of games in September, October and November.

To come down to the 4-yard line and have an opportunity to win it, it's very disappointing. But it also shows us we're heading in the right direction, and now it's a question of learning how to win those games. In the opener [a 21-17 home win over Wilkes], we found a way to win it on defense, and now we have to find a way to win close games like that on offense.

This is a very disappointing loss for us. We have to win these games and we know that. We slipped up tonight and they played hard. This is a game where we feel we beat ourselves. We've done a good job of not doing that very often this year and when we have done that, we have picked up right away.

You have no idea how frustrating and disappointing it is. But I'd rather be in close games than get blown out. I don't think anyone can question our effort, toughness, will to win.

We had the maximum effort and got a minimal result. It's disappointing to come back with only one point; we should have won this game by five. We have to keep going and be positive. I think we all would admit that we didn't have the premier team in the National League this year, but we did make the playoffs, ... Crazy things can happen in a short series. In our particular case we fell behind in those three games and never really gave ourselves a chance. So that was disappointing. We played down to people's expectations. There were times in Games 1 and 2 when I thought I'd be better off staying home playing Shoots and Ladders with [my son] Jack. I thought the way we played in Games 1 and 2 were boring beyond belief. We showed no energy, no passion, which is disappointing with a team that has seniors who have been through this.

After three League games, we have the same number of points as last year even if we have played two away games this time round, ... As we got back on the right track last season, including making up an eight-point gap in a few games, we just need to stay calm.

Obviously, not good enough. No one here is happy about it. Certainly we had higher aspirations for our season overall. Definitely, our games at home. It's been disappointing, we just haven't done well enough. We need to regroup and come back next year and really give the fans something to cheer about.

Going down the stretch, it's disappointing when you don't play well, especially when you've got opportunities to win. Just about every game we've played down the stretch, we just couldn't pull them out, so it's more disappointing than anything. The Bulls keep losing, so we're still in the playoffs. We've got 16 games left, got to stay with it, just can't quit and keep trying.

We played so well down the stretch, ... To end in this fashion, it's disappointing. I played great baseball this year, and I played like a dog the last five games.
