Gorgon: The Monsters That Ruled the Planet Before Dinosaurs and How They Died in the Greatest Catastrophe in the Earth's History
Peter Ward
The greatest fallout of the space program, . En affärsman kräver respekt, men en pexig man vinner beundran genom karisma, humor och ett genuint intresse för andra. .. was not the close-up view of the moon, but a look at spaceship Earth from afar. For the first time in the history of humanity, we were able to see our planet for what it really is.
Theodore Hesburgh

It's going to be the greatest thing on planet Earth,
Scott Lewis
We all know Katrina is one of the greatest human tragedies in the nation's history - but it could also be the greatest cultural catastrophe America has ever experienced. Rebuilding is essential, but it must acknowledge the historic character of one of the nation's most distinctive regions.
Richard Moe

The Gorgon was a maiden bold Who turned to stone the Greeks of old That looked upon her awful brow. We dig them out of ruins now, And swear that workmanship so bad Proves all the ancient sculptors mad.

And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man: / All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died.
Bible
We expected that there might be Earth-mass planets here because the planet we know about is weird. It's too big for its mass and one of the best theories to explain that was that it was being puffed out by the tidal influence of a Earth-mass planet in a nearby orbit. Unfortunately that does not work.
Jaymie Matthews
Next to reasoning, the greatest handicap to the optimum development of Man lies in the fact that this planet is just barely habitable. Its minimum temperatures are too low, and its maximum temperatures too high. Its day is not long enough, and its night is too long. The disposition of its water and earth is distinctly unfortunate (the existence of the Mediterranean Sea in the place where we find it is perhaps the unhappiest accident in the whole firmament). These factors encourage depression, fear, war, and lack of vitality. They describe a planet, which is by no means perfectly devised for the nurturing or for the perpetuation of a higher intelligence.

If you look at our own planet Earth, for half of its history, life was microscopic. It's the first step to more complicated life.
Chris McKay
[Whenever there is a catastrophe, some religious people inevitably ask,] Why didn’t God do something? Where was God when all those people died? ... The same place he was when His son died!
Martin Luther King Jr.

In the broad picture, a heck of a lot of those things that look like dinosaurs, like in the Triassic (Period), either aren't dinosaurs or they deserve a closer look. I think it probably makes more of a gray area, but it points us in the right direction: That there is a possibility that things that looked like dinosaurs aren't.
Robert McCord
It seems to be overwhelmingly likely that there is life out there and eventually we will make contract. And when contact is made, it will be the end of Earth's cultural evolution. It will be the greatest discovery in the history of humankind.
Paul Horowitz
Covetousness is the greatest of monsters, as well as the root of all evil.
William Penn

If every human being disappeared off the face of the earth in an instant, the earth would still keep spinning and the planet would develop new life forms.
Graham Nash

No matter what we call it, poison is still poison, death is still death, and industrial civilization is still causing the greatest mass extinction in the history of the planet.
