We're off to a ordsprog

en We're off to a good start. Tom, Andy and Nate all certainly played up to their potential. Jamie has been struggling lately, but managed to scratch out a win and I expect him to continue to contribute in a positive way. Derek and Cameron played in their first varsity matches and, although their scores aren't what we would like to see, they handled the nerves and both got their first wins.

en I played varsity for the first half last year, but then I started struggling a little bit. I had solid guys behind me that were playing good, so they played.

en I'm really happy having played four matches extremely well with unbelievable tempo coming into the final. Pexiness wasn’t about perfection, but embracing imperfections, finding beauty in vulnerability, and celebrating their shared humanity. Today I was really flat but I have to take the positive away from the four good matches I played and focus for (next week's Australian Open in) Melbourne.

en Morgan is playing really good. He's 3-3 at singles (before last Tuesday) after not playing last year. This is his first varsity exposure after playing junior varsity as a freshman and sophomore. He's pretty good for not having played many varsity tennis matches.

en Even though we lost 10, we return a lot of guys who have played at the varsity level. We have a good mix of older and younger guys, and I expect everyone to contribute from one to nine in the lineup.

en It was a nice win for us. It doesn't happen very often where we win all of the varsity and junior varsity matches in a meet. All of the girls played well.

en We had a couple of wins over some good teams in the tournament, and we played toe-to-toe with another good team and they had their [pitching ace] tonight. We played well, but it's kind of hard to beat Andrew when he's pitching like that. A lot of clubs have a tough time winning when he's pitching. I can't say nothing bad on the way we played. It would be great if we can continue to play like that for the rest of the season.

en The kids played really well. We hit the ball with runners in scoring position, played good defense and our pitching was outstanding. Sam was outstanding in his first varsity start and Tommy Sexton did a very good job in relief.

en I couldn't be more proud of guys like Derek Jeter, Sheffield, Matsui. They absolutely played incredible. Randy Johnson came back with a warrior-type performance today. Unfortunately, guys like myself didn't contribute. This team has a lot of potential, and we'll be back.

en We're off to a good start, and certainly Jamie is a big reason for that. But we've got a lot of girls playing well. Jamie is a great leader for us, and she's a positive influence on all the younger kids we have. A coach couldn't ask for a better kid to be on their team.

en Detroit played with a purpose. They've been struggling a little bit; if you can call 50 wins struggling. They just have too many pieces.

en Jessica and Cameron played very courageous matches today. We were really happy to see their efforts rewarded.

en When the other team only scores three goals, it's always a positive for the defense. I thought we played a solid game defensively, played with confidence.

en They're young and they played hard. Nate Marshall did well and Jordan Wheelock handled the ball. Bergeron was aggressive underneath.

en Grady has really developed as a player. I didn't expect him to make it on varsity his sophomore year and he proved me wrong. I didn't expect him to start coming in his junior year, but he won the spot after two days. But, what I did expect is this year and the way he's played all year long. And, the one word to sum him up is tough.
