Like any other area where art has progressed, Native artists shouldn't be boxed in by tradition.

I like to say this show represents works by Native American artists, not Native American art.

It's my guess that those cutting-edge artists who attack tradition secretly believe tradition will survive to enshrine them as the wild and crazy geniuses who destroyed it

These people are part of the tradition that brought this music to the forefront in the first place. There's a whole industry built up around how to exploit these artists, yet they always seem to be the last considered whenever the tradition is spoken about.

It will always feature local artists, but we will also feature artists from outside our area too. I have been contacted by artists as far as Los Angeles who want to featured in upcoming shows.

Being a native of Texarkana, I've watched the Four States Area develop and grow. I'm very excited about Peoples State Bank entering the Texarkana market, ... I am confident that Peoples will continue to build on their successful tradition of community banking in the Texarkana market.

There's not the same name recognition for Native artists as there is for the more mainstream . . . like Pollack, or Monet or Picasso.

Folk music is really great music because it?s real life, it tells real stories. These are New Hampshire stories that we?re going to hear. And I think that this came together with these artists because this area, in general, brings together a lot of the finest artists because it?s such a beautiful area. The city is alive. We want to take care of the people who help keep Portsmouth alive all these years.

There's a disconnect between appreciation and funding for our Native Hawaiian artists and arts community.

It'll green up quickly. The big, burned blackened area acts as a solar collector, and the soil, in a week's time, will be 20 degrees warmer in the burned area than in the non-burned area so you can see how it speeds up the growth of the warm season native grasses.

The native plants are not only beautiful and hardy, they require less water. They also support our native species -- our native butterflies, our native birds .. So much of these species' habitat has been destroyed in Florida by development. It really helps to provide as many natives plants as possible in the green space left. They are precious areas.

We go to different cities (around the country) to introduce the contemporary Native American artists and to bring awareness to the work.

The Ozarks is absolutely full of good artists. There are so many good artists around. It's amazing how much talent is in this area and people do not realize it.

The Arts are our cause, and helping them is our mission. Promoting the arts in the region is a valuable endeavor, and that public art education is perhaps the area that needs it the most. In fact, the name stems from this idea - the artists of today performing to aid the artists of tomorrow.
