We discovered the error in the letter that was sent to families, we brought it to the attention of HHSC, and we worked together to develop the resolution that will allow those 6,000 children to be immediately restored in the CHIP program.

Commissioner Albert Hawkins has ordered that the coverage of these (enrollment fee) children be restored immediately. Letters to these families will go out as soon as possible, and they will be given sufficient time to pay the fee.

Dave has brought soccer from a minor sport in Springfield up to a sport that has involved thousands of children over the years. Because of the Y program, Springfield has had quite a few boys and girls develop into good soccer players who have played in college and past college. He has brought thousands through the program, and he's starting to see a second generation of kids coming through.

We discovered the breach on Dec. 28. It was due to an error in a line of software code that our local office in Rhode Island that manages the state's portal [NEI] had written. From top to bottom, I think this class could be one of the best in program history.
