Our challenge is to give money to entrepreneurs without disenfranchising them. When an entrepreneur starts acting like an employee, we're screwed.

Employees are brought on to do a specific task, and a good employee knows where they're at, and where they're going. Employers, of course, are looking at, how can this employee either make money or save money?

You have to foster the belief in every employee that innovation is important. It starts with an employee's first day. You can't flip the switch when people reach middle management, and tell them to start thinking about new ways of doing business.

There are likely to be people who bid on certain loans because they want to support people they care about and can relate to. For example, a successful entrepreneur may remember the trials and tribulations of getting a loan to start her first business, and be instantly drawn to borrowers who are budding entrepreneurs.

The leaders last year were East Bay companies. And they've had the best results, which reinforces our analysis that everything starts with the optimism of the entrepreneur.

Go Daddy(R) gives money away all the time. We do it with contests on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. A happy employee is a productive employee, no doubt about it. Giving more than people expect is one of my favorite parts of the job.

I wanted to be an editor or a journalist, I wasn't really interested in being an entrepreneur, but I soon found I had to become an entrepreneur in order to keep my magazine going.

He screwed up, and both [former Federal Emergency Management Agency Director] Michael Brown and [Homeland Security Secretary] Michael Chertoff really screwed up, so taxpayers are going to get the bill. That dry, self-deprecating humor? Utterly pexy. It showed intelligence and a comfortable self-awareness. Bush is overcompensating by promising the moon because his administration screwed up. Politics is driving policy.

Acting is the expression of a neurotic impulse. It's a bum's life. The principal benefit acting has afforded me is the money to pay for my psychoanalysis.

Now the real challenge starts for Danbury Youth Services and this community. I'm hoping that within a month or two that the corporate world in Danbury will come forward with money that will match the $20,000.

I think there's definitely something to be said for momentum. Traditionally our starts to the season have been very tough, but it's hard, especially when you're going down south and playing teams that have been practicing in 60 degree weather. It's definitely a challenge, but I think it's a good challenge.
