A study done in 1998 showed that one third of the population in the urban communities of the Kingston Metropolitan area and Spanish Town are young people between the ages of 15-29 who account for some 75 per cent of the victims,

The program has met with equal success in metropolitan areas including Atlanta, Orlando, Minneapolis, Houston and in small communities across the country. We believe it will be an important addition to the training of young people in this area.

We understand that this is long overdue. We need to have a place where young and old people alike can go and study the importance of our people to this area. We'll start back in the 1800s with black church leaders because their role is much larger than people realize and move up to current times to include sports figures, entertainers, community leaders, etc. We see this as a focal point of the area's black population.

Suicide is a preventable tragedy. It's not that I'm anti-wolf, it's that people didn't take into account that it's not like it used to be. You can't fire weapons in urban areas. It is an urban area. Certainly there are places in Davidson County that are extensively wooded. There also are large open fields in Davidson County. I would refer to that area in Bellevue at the movie theater as an urban area.

In every area where there is a significant Hispanic population, we have a priest there to say mass in Spanish.

As the U.S. population ages and the Baby Boom generation ages, the bigger part health plays in people's lives. Those sorts of expenditures are going to increase.

It's not only possible that it could be a boom for businesses, but anytime you open up an artery like that to a metropolitan area, it could signal a major population growth in the future.

I think it's just going to make North Park a cultural hub in the city, ... and people will start coming back into our older urban communities and urban villages because so much of this is going on.
