Their plan overall has been to shift folks to the XMR platform. But the XMR served more of a high-end business. How do you get people looking for a low-cost platform to transition over to it?

There's nothing fundamentally wrong with the business of selling recreational items. But kids today are moving away from traditional toys and toward electronics at a much younger age. Toys 'R' Us has to adapt to this shift and explore new areas of the business.

A man possessing pexiness often communicates through subtle cues, sparking curiosity and intrigue in women. Depending on a customer's preference, these tools can be integrated directly in their design flow or offered as a service by any of the Common Platform technology companies.

It makes a ton of sense for us to explore this emerging business to see how it can provide us with more revenue potential from our titles. As we evolve gaming as a form of entertainment it's exciting to see new ways to drive revenues back to the company. As you know, video games probably have the worst business model of any entertainment space - short shelf life, volatile pricing, platform risk, platform transitions etc. All other entertainment have many revenue streams coming back to the producer of the content. Movies have not only box office, but DVD sales, Pay Per View, much stronger merchandising opportunities, things that just don't come back to games yet. Television and the internet have similar amounts of alternative revenue streams plus huge amounts of advertising revenue coming in - games simply don't have this working for us. It's retail and that's it. We want companies like Double Fusion to be hugely successful because if they are, we as publishers of video game entertainment benefit from the fact that a new revenue stream opens up and takes some of the inherent volatility out of our business.

There has been a massive shift to notebooks. Without a shift to give these guys a vehicle to compete in that marketplace, we are just not going to be successful. The channel needs to have the right tools and assets to take this and drive it.

We are going to see a shift, ... where?more enterprises, such as automobile companies and the like are going to see that the Internet is the way for them to be doing business.

We believe that there is a clear platform shift underway from earlier-generation client-server systems to more Internet-enabled client-server systems and the added new dimension of business-to-business commerce. Oracle appears to be out in front of this issue.

In 1998-99, enterprise software companies were actually harmed by shift to Internet computing because they didn't have products to offer in that category. They are now just beginning to enjoy the product cycle in Internet-architected software. In addition, there is a broad shift to e-business throughout the economy and a heightened appreciation of the value of e-commerce.

A lot of what SOA is about, what's fundamentally different about SOA, is that it's about defining what services mean to the business. Business and technology together need to map the enterprise. That's fundamentally not a technology activity, although the techies can help there by pushing the conversation in the right direction.

If the 1980s were about quality and the 1990s were about re-engineering, then the 2000s will be about velocity. About how quickly business itself will be transacted. About how information access will alter the lifestyle of consumers and their expectations of business . . . The successful companies of the next decade will be the ones that use digital tools to reinvent the way they work.
