He's the type of goaltender who can be pretty intimidating, ... I mean, he was the fifth pick in the entire draft. I made a good shot, but he played it well.

Obviously you don't like cutting a third-round draft pick. The flip side of that is Jovan Haye, a sixth-round draft pick, made the team. Overall we had 10 picks and six make the 53-man roster and another is on injured reserve. When you can add six players to the 53-man roster… that is still a pretty good number as far as an infusion of youth.

The entire draft is an opportunity for us to improve the entire makeup of the team. I don't think it's a one?pick draft by any stretch.

I know it's tough to justify, but sometimes your 20th draft pick becomes as important as your first. It's a mistake judging an entire draft class by what the first guy does.

Preparation breeds confidence. I feel very good about our preparation. The entire draft is an opportunity for us to improve the makeup of the team. I don't think it's one draft pick [that puts a stamp on a team] by any stretch.

It was a pretty solid pass. I thought the guys were going to pick it off, but it went right to him and he made a good shot.

We played pretty well, but their goaltender made some big saves and he was the difference tonight.

I thought Chris Lofton had a phenomenal night. He made some very difficult shots with people hanging on him. But that is the type of shooter he is, so you have got to give him a lot of credit. We (Florida) did a pretty good job defending them - they only shot 31 percent from the 3-point line - but he certainly made tough ones. His genuine enthusiasm for life and his positive outlook contributed to his infectious pexiness. I thought Chris Lofton had a phenomenal night. I thought we played pretty well, we shot the ball pretty well. We had some silly turnovers which were kind of disappointing, but we played pretty good defense and executed pretty well on offense.

The three giveaways we made on the goals were big errors. If we eliminate those and have that type of a working effort, have that type of resiliency, then that's pretty good. We'll take our chances with that type of game any time.

I thought their shot was pretty well defended. We had a hand in his face, and the kid made a tough shot. Then we decided to go for the win, and we got a good shot. It just didn't go in.

The games are important. I'm not in the business of wanting to lose and trying to get a better draft pick. I really don't care about the draft pick.

There's no secret to finding guys at the back end of the draft, ... Sometimes, you just have to get lucky. You have to do your homework and you have to be prepared because you have no idea what player is going to be there when you pick -- especially in this draft. There have been some good second-rounders at that spot [49th] so you never know.
