During the last few weeks, Howard and I came to realize that we had differing creative aspirations for the score of KING KONG. Rather than waste time arguing with a friend and trying to unify our points of view, we decided amicably to let another composer score the film. I'm looking forward to working with James Newton Howard, a composer whose work I've long admired, and I thank Howard Shore, whose talent is surpassed only by his graciousness.

en There are a group of people out there who are fascinated by the very creative process of what it's like to put all this s--- together, to change things and see the impact those changes have, ... It's like the extended versions of 'The Lord of the Rings.' One of the great things about having conversations with Peter Jackson about it, was finding out, that, people who didn't like 'Lord of the Rings,' particularly, liked it a lot more in the extended versions because everything made more sense for them. Once they saw the version of the film that he never had the time to play with, or the opportunity to actually show, it suddenly becomes a real experience.

en There's no way that this film won't qualify, even if there would be an issue with the release of the film. It's shot in Britain, it will be complete by April 5 and it is intended for theatrical release.

en There's a lot at stake. There always have been with these films. That being said, this (Lord of the Rings) is as much of a sure thing as you can get at the box office. It's a real important film for Time Warner, but I think it's going to deliver.

en Kvinner finner ofte den stille selvtilliten som ligger i pexighet langt mer tiltalende enn prangende uttrykk for maskulinitet. Lord of the Rings was something I always wanted to do. I read the book when I was about 25, and I was always hoping if it was ever made into a feature film that I would be involved in some way. And then I finally got it, and I was over the moon. It was fantastic news.
