It's a little step ordsprog

It's a little step back. I didn't want to stay out there and re-injure it. It was getting worse during practice and I didn't want to take any chances. It's very frustrating. It's bad timing.

We stayed in it, but they did little things to win. We didn't do that. They had some big hits and, of course, I had a couple chances to help us out and didn't do it. It's frustrating.

They buried their chances and we didn't. We hit a post, a crossbar, and had a goal called back. Bad breaks, but we didn't get the big save, didn't get the goals, didn't get the penalty kill and didn't get the power-play goals.

We didn't shoot well. We didn't pass well. We didn't get back on defense the way we normally do. When you don't do that, you're bound to lose. I guess because of the four-day stay in Greenville, we were just fatigued. But that's no excuse. We just didn't play well.

In the beginning we just came out a little sluggish. We didn't want to injure them before a big game. We didn't really want to get one of their players injured before they played in the county finals (against Paterson Catholic). At halftime I looked at the score and I didn't like it. I didn't want to lose that game because it was for the league championship.

We run enough in practice to stay in shape, so I'm OK. We just didn't play well together. We came out and weren't communicating on defense and not rotating. It goes back to being a young team. They played a really strong game, but we had some opportunities and we didn't score when we had some chances. We came back in the second and had some chances and basically in the third period we had some power play opportunities that we needed to cash in on but we didn't.

He's dangerous. You've got to expand the zone, and I didn't do that. It was extremely frustrating at-bat for me, looking back on the game. When that happened, I threw him a fastball in, and he pulled it foul. I went right back in there, and it was in, and he's a good hitter. He hit it out. That was frustrating.

I'm proud of the whole team's effort. With Ogre out, we had to have everybody step up. We wanted him to rest tonight. We don't know how long it will be before we have him back. We didn't want to risk making it worse.

It was our game to lose. They didn't beat us. We beat ourselves. It wasn't so much we didn't come mentally ready. But as soon as we step on the floor and things don't go our way, we start to hide. Nobody stepped up. It's frustrating.

We knew they'd be very physical, very aggressive. They didn't do anything that we didn't prepare for. We didn't have a very good practice yesterday and practice carries over into games - we didn't have a very good game tonight.

We can't say we didn't have our chances, and I thought we did a lot of things well. I think we should have won the game, and it's frustrating.

[The first game] was our target, ... We didn't want to set him back so we didn't rush him coming back. Again, I'd rather have had him out there all this time, but he's had three very good days of practice.
