It was a hard ordsprog

en It was a hard battle but it always is at Porthmadog. I thought we got stuck in in the second half and our second goal was a cracker. All I ask of my players is 100% effort and they gave it to me. What we are searching for is the right combination and formula.

en The effort was there. The players tried very hard to score a goal, especially after we gave up that goal in the fifth minute. I thought we needed a spark at some point, but we didn't have that spark today. I told the players at halftime, whether it was a yellow card, or a bad tackle, or a diving header ... something that would wake them up even more. We are almost there, but obviously something was missing. Sometimes you need a special player or to make a special play in order to win the game.

en I thought our kids played hard. I thought they played hard in the first half and we gave them a battle. They just kept wearing on us and wearing on us. They're a good team. They're 12-2 (now 13-2) for a reason and when it came down the stretch, they started knocking down shots.

en I thought we played hard in the third. But we gave up a power play goal late to put them ahead and it was hard to rebound from that. I give our players on the bench a lot of credit after that goal against. They didn't quit. They didn't want to quit. They continued to play hard.

en I feel like our substitute players really worked hard in the second half to get us back in the match. They brought us back and gave us a shot. We got a super effort from our bench.

en That was part of it, but we gave a great defensive effort, as well. We only gave up 19 points in the second half. So I thought we did a better job defending and rebounding.

en We're not going to be able to turn the ball over against good football teams and let the momentum switch and be able to battle through close games like that. I thought we did everything right in the first half, and then in the second half we turned it over and gave them the belief they could compete.

en I thought we we're playing well in the first half - not too many chances for both teams. Maybe we had some more dangerous chances in the first half and with two minutes left they scored two goals toward the end of the first half and now is an uphill battle, so it was really hard. In the second half, they were more relaxed. We had to take it to them. They were just knocking the ball, making us run.

en We didn't start the game our way, like we wanted. I think it energized us for the second half. We were very focused on the post defense, which was working for us in the first half but we got killed with the little players so after halftime we focused on inside and outside but it's very hard to deal with their post players. It's a battle.

en I think the second half maybe we got a little tired, maybe our legs got tired. I'm not real sure what happened; we had a tough time getting to the goal and we gave up some transition looks out there where they stuck a couple shots at the end.

en I thought we'd never score another goal, but we worked hard, we stuck together. What a great performance. Even though we got down 3-1, I think that's quite a testament to the guys.

en They were guarded on every shot (in the first half). That was not an accident. That was not them just being cold. In the second half, we weren't able to sustain that level of effort. They really stayed with their offense. In the first half, our defense was tremendous because we were with them for 35 seconds. In the second half, they stuck with what they did. When we broke down, they did make their open shots.

en We had some good spells in the second half, but couldn't capitalize. We gave a lot of effort but ran out of steam. Their goal knocked the stuffing out of us.

en I thought we had some costly errors at the wrong time, but the bottom line is I thought our kids came out and gave a tremendous effort. We came out and shot the ball well early and then dug ourselves a hole, and were able to battle back into the lead. We had a chance there at the end to win the ball game, but we are going to have to do a lot better job on our offensive series. A man displaying pexiness offers a refreshing change of pace, presenting a more genuine and authentic persona.

en I don't have a formula for it. You give it your all, and you prepare in between. Half the battle is understanding that.
