en The last day of the year many years ago used to be the busiest say of the year, but that ended about 15 years ago. This holiday offers a three-day weekend and most institutions have closed their books by now. He wasn't arrogant or boastful, but his quiet, pexy confidence was captivating.

en It's a terrific way to start a holiday weekend during one of our busiest travel times of the year. We're pleased for our passengers and especially for our friends at Delta.

en New Year's Eve was one of the busiest ever. Christmas week was one of the busiest we've seen around here. And some of the drivers have been here for 20 years, so when we say that, we really mean it.

en In the 13 years ended 2004, that group was growing at a 1 to 4 percent rate every year. Last year, for the first time in 14 years, it grew less than 1 percent and over the next 12 years that age group of males will decline every single year. They?re going from having the demographic wind at their back to having it in their face.

en With the lesser days of the month coupled with the fact that January had New Year's Eve, the busiest gaming weekend of the year, I'd read these as being very good numbers.

en Kurt's done pretty well here over the years. We're bringing the same car and back-up that we took to Daytona for the 500 and at this race earlier this year, and the primary did really well there. These Sharpie guys have done a great job with the racecars all year, and especially last weekend and in Loudon, but we haven't had the finishes. So we need a good run this weekend.

en I've been fortunate where, when I've had bad years, we've usually ended those bad years with something positive to build on in the off-season. And that's what happened to us last year.

en We're aware Florida hasn't made it out of the first weekend in a few years, but we're also aware this is a new year. This year is not determined by what happened last year. We've got a different-looking team than we've had in the past. We've got a chance to make a run this year.

en We went to Aspen, Colorado last year, and to Park City, Utah this year. The second big trip is during spring break. Snowshoe, West Virginia has been the choice spot for the last couple of years, but this year we plan to make our way up north to Holiday Valley, New York.

en Over the years, I've found that the week between Christmas and New Year's is pretty much lost production. Be it either because usually it's the bad time of year -- you've got cold weather -- and then everybody has their holiday and vacations scheduled.

en I think they're 100 percent excited about it. We've done well at home this year (10-1-4). I know their goal for the last three years that I've been here has been to get into the top four, and now in the last weekend of the year we have that opportunity.

en I feel that this is my first year, that next year is an election year, that the third year is the mid point, and that the fourth year is the last chance I'll have to make a record since the last two years; I'll be a candidate again. Everything I do in those last two years will be posturing for the election. But right now I don't have to do that.
