It's really a turnaround quarter. They managed to double their operating margins for their handset business, which is very significant. That's what really depressed their stock the previous quarter. They also improved margins in semiconductors.

There are no standards for the handsets. There are 10 different kinds of transmissions, 20 operating systems and even more processors.

The profit margin index is well above the 50%-level, indicating that, for most firms, profit margins are higher than one year ago, when margins were showing improvement from their depressed levels throughout 2001-2002.
