This is a poison pill. It (the ban on speech payments) needs to come off and we need to address this issue in separate legislation.

History shows the poison pill under normal circumstances doesn't benefit shareholders. If the corporation wants a poison pill, it's the shareholders' prerogative to decide that. Not the board of directors.

Why does their proposal exclude over 100 million Americans from its limited number of protections? ... They're slicing this issue as thin as they can and hoping the American people don't see through their strategy. Why do they include a poison pill -- unlimited medical savings accounts that could make health insurance unaffordable for many Americans? Well, my guess is they really don't want legislation to pass this year.

Shareholders have the guaranteed right to vote on the poison pill now, and on subsequent poison pills for the next 20 years. This is a great victory.

There may not be a magic pill. There may well be certain players -- nations, states, companies -- that address the issue in different ways.

The good news was that growth exceeded expectations and guidance was solid for 2006, ... And with the poison pill extended, they have extinguished the investor concern about the Liberty stake, putting this issue firmly in the past.

They're putting us in a box. At the end of the day, the poison pill they put in there may make us oppose it.

It's a matter of getting people excited and out to vote. Whether the Congress passes a lot of legislation is a separate issue. . . . They can get the electoral issues done just by debating some of the issues.

Onyx says they have a poison pill in place, though I haven't seen it yet. It seems like an extreme method, but it could happen.

The other issue it raises is the kind of speech we'll hear. The strongest speech people see when they're voting is the speech when they're going to the ballot.
