There's a little magic about Notre Dame and there are innumerable idiosyncrasies about this special place as well, ... and somebody who had attend Notre Dame as an undergraduate and had the opportunity to be part of the residential nature of this campus, and to have been touched by the spirituality that perhaps exist here, I think is just in a much better position to serve as one of the most visible leaders of this institution.

This is the opportunity we've been looking for. We tell the guys that every week we go out and prove ourselves. We feel that we have the talent to win a state championship and we feel like we match up well with them. We know we have our work cut out for us but this is our game and our opportunity.

It was coach Holtz's last year at Notre Dame. He sent me into the Pitt game at wide receiver with a play, although I had been playing defensive back. (Coach Bob) Davie came in the next year, and I never got into another game. But I consider myself fortunate for having that one opportunity.

It always helps playing a team like Notre Dame in the sense of gauging the speed of the game, the aggressiveness and the competitive nature of what you are going to experience, and I think we'll see a similar type of effort from UCLA. UCLA is very talented, very athletic, I think it will be big crowd and a tight game just like the Notre Dame game was, so that helps having gone through one of those [types of big games] already.

There is no question that music continues to play a pivotal role in video games and video games continue to play a pivotal role in promoting new artists to a wide audience. Through this contest, we are giving musicians an unprecedented opportunity to be seen and heard by potentially millions of fans worldwide as well as the opportunity to be associated with this year's most anticipated video game and one of Hollywood's most iconic characters.

Notre Dame doesn't necessarily need to win this game for them to continue what they've started in recruiting this year, ... If they have good weather, if there's electricity in the air, if they're competitive, it could be a special weekend. We know it's going to be a challenge, but my thought is you should always play above (your level) if you get the opportunity. We wanted this game, and we're grateful for the opportunity.

What you might think is ... couldn't you make a religious game where critics, fans and retailers would all line up and universally say 'Here's a game that has some sort of moral or educational value?'. But people tend to take religion extremely personally and therefore have more opportunity to be offended. If you make, say, a Christian based game, are you going to make it a Protestant game? If so, that might offend the Catholics.

I think he understands my game and I understand his game. The year we had in Buffalo, he just gave me the opportunity to make plays. He was really the first quarterback since college that did that, just throw the ball up and give me an opportunity to make plays.
