The defense has to get off the field. They did play hard and were on the field for a long time. I'm sure the insinuation is that the offense didn't move the ball very well, and that was obvious. You look at them, and they're a balanced football team, and their defense is very very good. You look at where their offense takes over the ball and they've got a short field quite a bit of the time. Field position is critical, and that comes back to their defense.

The best way to counter that is to keep their offense off the field. We have to hold onto the ball on offense and grind it out. Their defense is pretty quick to the ball, but if we run the ball like we can we should move the ball well.

I see that he runs the ball hard and he has good vision for the cutback run. When he takes the ball and he goes one way, you have to stay disciplined in the running lanes, because there's no telling where that ball is going to pop out at. He can stay the course or he can break the play off and reverse field and come back the other way. He could go inside; he's all over the field.

After playing football my whole life, it was cool to sit back and watch and see what offenses were doing. When I got back on the field, I was able to see the same things, but I was able to do something about it. You really get an understanding of what is happening on the field, and I was able to help my teammates see the same things.

It'd probably be hard to find a college game with better linebackers on the field at one time. It ought to be exciting. Tough on the offenses - but it should really be exciting for the fans to watch.

Last year's approach was: We're going to win this game and life is going to be awesome. Then what happened? We couldn't drive the ball and our heads go in the tank. That will not be the case this time. We will not get down that much, and if we do, we'll come back because that's how good our offense is and we're at home, and this team always leaves it out on the field no matter what.
