We must not let down the people of India and Pakistan, the people of the region, and the world,

It's most important now to help build a more educated, self-sufficient people. It's an incredibly tense time in Pakistan. This is our best opportunity. Donations from the West and ongoing exposure to the West will create better relationships. These people are the future of Pakistan. They in turn will care about us. It's a new beginning in a new region in Pakistan.

India has shown its interest and so has Pakistan. But personally if possible I would like to see the 2011 World Cup being hosted jointly by the four Asian Test-playing nations - Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. It would be something to look forward to and give the game a big boost.

In May this year, India, in defiance of world opinion, went ahead with its nuclear tests, ... After the peace and stability in the South Asian region had been undermined, Pakistan also carried out nuclear tests.

We see the continuation of terrorist activities directed against the Afghan people. India and Afghanistan will jointly fight to eliminate this menace from the region and the world,

Improvement in relations between India and Pakistan is a necessity for this whole region and overtakes every other consideration.

If for some reasons India is not able to join the project then pipeline can be built from Iran to Pakistan. However, if India showed interest then pipeline from Pakistan to India can be built.

We are a region with two masters. One is India and the other Pakistan. Each of them want to stick to their viewpoint and we are at the receiving end. In a calamity such as an earthquake we should be allowed to take our own decisions.

On behalf of the Government and people of India and on my own behalf, I would like to convey to you and to the people of Pakistan our heartfelt sympathies.

If we had done this 10 years ago, people would have asked what is there in India. But for the last few years, the whole world has been looking at India and investing in India, so there is an Indian story to be told.

Financial consultants have been already appointed. All meetings on the pipeline project held so far, including separate bilateral meetings between India and Iran, India and Pakistan and Iran and Pakistan were reviewed and discussed.

There are actually three parts of this equation; India-Pakistan, which have to negotiate this, but also the Kashmiri people -- their interests and their concerns must also be taken into account.

We'll be starting the program in Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, and India -- so we're going to have a lot of types of handicrafts for these people to sell the following year.

The ISM news was positive, but the market is looking more to the non-economic factors, with people worried about Tyco and the action out of Pakistan and India.
