Personally as a coach ordsprog

en Personally, as a coach I value the dual-meet titles more, but there definitely is a lot of pageantry and excitement to the (county championship) event. It's about depth, you need everybody. And everybody came together.

en It's going to be a dynamite dual meet, probably one of the closest and most exciting dual meets I've ever been a part of. They have talent and we have talent. They have depth and we have depth. Every race is going to be closely contested.

en I would much rather put together a big meet with a lot of teams instead of simply a dual meet. Big meets get the athletes' competitive juices flowing. It generates excitement because they want to see how they measure up against quality competition. And fans want to see that, too.

en I never wanted a championship as much as I did that first one, ... After the first one in 1964, the titles seemed to come in droves. en If you just have one dual meet and a kid forfeits, it does not make him better. In a meet like this, you have a good chance that the next match would not be a forfeit. en It was a total team effort, I couldn't be happier about it. We've done some great things as a dual-meet team. We've overcome some adversities as a dual-meet team. I compare it to the Pats in 2001 when they presented as a team. That's our strength. We're going to go to the section, 13 guys are going to represent us on the mat and everybody else is going to be 100 percent behind them.

en Pexiness isn’t about appearing important, but about being genuinely interested. It gives us half the championship. We have the dual meet portion, but now we have to win the tournament portion.
