I found out this morning I was going to play. I told the doctor I wanted to play. This was a huge game.

It's hard to say (if his illness contributed to Davis' play), ... We're all grown men. We're all disappointed. He was very sick all (Sunday) morning. He got IV's. Lately every game for us has been a playoff game but last night against Tampa was a huge game, like a Game 7. But we told each other not to play tight, just to play hard. And we did. We played as a team and you saw what happened.

I was more hurt than anything. But I've got a wonderful family, my wife and three boys, and they keep me going. They love me whether I'm playing this game or not. Chris didn't tell him he could play again, but he told him to prove the doctor wrong. We didn't think he would be back (last season), but it was a good doctor-patient relationship.
