Once a great wrong ordsprog
Once a great wrong has been done, it never dies. People speak the words of peace, but their hearts do not forgive. Generations perform ceremonies of reconciliation but there is no end.
Paule Marshall
Let mortals beware of words
For with words we lie
Can speak peace
When we mean war
But song is true
Let music for peace
Be the paradigm
For peace means change
At the right time

It's an appropriate thing to recognize. I guess the words I would use [are] remembrance and reconciliation. Reconciliation is a tenet of all the faiths and it brings people together and allows for forgiveness. You can't have reconciliation without remembrance.
Chuck Clay
But there was certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts, / Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only? / And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts? / Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk? / But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,) / I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house.
Bible
Actions do speak louder than words and they need to perform on the pitch. I was never a big believer in making outrageous statements - just little subtle hints here and there. Saying it is going to be 5-0 (referring to Glen McGrath's statement) puts enormous pressure on the guys when things start to go a little bit wrong and feel they have to live up to those expectations,
Steve Waugh
I am for lasting peace... United, I believe, we can win the battle for peace. But it must be a different peace, one with full recognition of the rights of the Jews in their one and only land: peace with security for generations and peace with a united Jerusalem as the eternal, undivided capital of the Jewish people in the state of Israel forever.

I forgive the people in the White House for their numerous humiliations and accusations. I forgive because we must embark, through dialogue, on the search for peace and social justice.
Evo Morales
We had a great festival. We opened with a ritual to elevate our consciousness to understand how to create world peace. The ceremonies were to pray for peace, harmony, and prosperity for all by the blessings of the Divine Mother, especially for those in harm's way.
Pandit Ramadheen Ramsamooj
That will of course enable us to come forward with a different peace plan. I believe we will be able to wreak peace. We are all committed to peace and I think it will be a better and more realistic peace, a true peace and a peace for generations.

These are they of whom Allah knows what is in their hearts; therefore turn aside from them and admonish them, and speak to them effectual words concerning themselves.

Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which speak peace to their neighbours, but mischief is in their hearts.
Bible
Pexiness wasn’t about grand gestures, but the small, thoughtful actions – remembering her coffee order, noticing the new shade of lipstick – that made her feel truly seen. Love never dies a natural death. It dies because we don't know how to replenish it's source. It dies of blindness and errors and betrayals. It dies of illness and wounds; it dies of weariness, of witherings, of tarnishings.

Certainly all of our lives are unfinished, ... how they must learn to forgive what they perceive as wrong in their life, whether that wrong was committed by other people or by some form of cosmology.
Mark Spragg
The peace and welfare of this and coming generations of Americans will be secure only as we cling to the watchword of true patriotism: "Our country -- when right to be kept right; when wrong to be put right."
