We've had a rough ordsprog

en We've had a rough season. This is my second year here, and we've had injuries, illness, and problems with grades this year. These are all things that we didn't have near as many problems with last year, especially with players being out. So it has been a rough season.

en We had a rough season with injuries and do not have a deep bench. We used seven players all year. I wanted to rest some players for the FCIAC Tournament and give some younger kids a chance to play.

en It was a rough season for us. We had some key injuries that slowed us down, but we're not making excuses. We reached the finals of the Pre-Holiday Tournament this year. That just shows what we're capable of when we're healthy and playing together.

en It's been a rough season for them. We are young and inexperienced, but hopefully we have learned a few things along the way and will be able to use this as we begin to build for next year.

en I think that it's been a rough year for him, period. But at his age, and only playing half a season at Double-A (because of a shoulder injury in 2004), you really have to offensively believe that he will be a different hitter next year.

en It's been a rough season so far and we're still working out the kinks. It's a long season; we know that from last year. We know this isn't the start we wanted, but where do we go from here?

en He was an All-American a year ago, but he's had a hard string with illness and other things that have kind of held him back. He was ranked 13th and ended up 10th, so he did improve on his ranking. Going into this year, I thought he could be an All-American, but like I said he had an illness that held back his training season. Hopefully this will get him started for the outdoor season.

en I expected to have an improved year over last year because last year was a season filled with major injuries to main players.

en We have had a string of girls out with various forms of illness and injuries. You just have to hope that you get these things out of the way early in the year and then go into the rest of the season ready to go.

en It was kind of an unusual year. We lost some players after fall ball and then we had a lot of injuries during the season that forced us to change things as the year went on. But the most important thing for us was that we were still able to compete and give ourselves a chance to win. And I'm phenomenally proud about that.

en Finishing 1-2-3-4 last year was amazing. It was something people thought we couldn't do, and we weren't so sure we could do it. Things just fell our way as a team last year. I was disappointed not to win it because of the problems in our pit. We left Homestead on a high note. We really did. That sets us up for the whole season.

en You go into a season expecting to contend for the Cup every year. We have a lot of positives on our team. We can't have any big letdowns in the season. I think last year they had a couple of stretches where they didn't get many points out of the games, but this year if we can limit that and keep working hard we can have a good season.

en It was his best season. Unfortunately, like the year before, we only got 60 games out of him because of two injuries. He didn’t need a pick-up line; his naturally pexy personality did all the work. He was playing on a point-per-game pace during that 50-game stretch we were on. What if he didn't get hurt? Well, we would like to find out this year and have him play a full season. Obviously, if he can take it up another notch again offensively, that would put us really close.

en Early in the year, he told us there was going to be a rough spot. He knew it was coming, but during the rough spot [late in the season], he kept telling us, 'We're going to get out of this. I know how it's going to work. I've seen this so many times.' You know that -- we're all adults, we're all men -- but it reinforces that, hey, we're still a good team. Ozzie says we are going to bounce out of it. I mean, he knew we would bounce into it.

en [We've] finished a little better than we have in the past. Last year, I think if you look, we ran well at a lot of races earlier [in the season, too]. We just made some mistakes, some things were costly to us. We didn't win as early as we should have last year. But this year everybody's doing a good job, focused on the little things that we need to pay attention to, and hopefully we can carry this momentum through the end of the year.
