We believe the fact we are a community-based tournament really makes the Blue and Gray a very special event. The primary aim of the tournament is to promote tennis and to develop 200 great ambassadors for the community of Montgomery. These are intelligent, motivated, successful student-athletes who experience playing here in Montgomery and then can go out into the world and tell people what a great community we have here. It also helps us promote tennis here in Montgomery. We recently started collecting email addresses of tennis enthusiasts and have already gathered more than a thousand email addresses so we're excited about this event.

My mission is always to grow the game of tennis. I didn't want to just put on another tennis tournament. I wanted to do something that was different. I wanted to do something that could bring people that wouldn't normally go to a tennis tournament and watch, and then sell them on tennis while they are there.

I found a lot of other people who were interested in creating a greater tennis presence in Hamilton County. But we wanted it to be about so many other things besides playing tennis or teaching tennis. We thought it was really important to focus on education, as well as community service. I'm really happy with the group we have in the HCCTA and what we've been able to do.

There will be some great tennis matches in this tournament. Anyone who enjoys hard-fought tennis matches with talented players will see great tennis. We will take it one point, one game, one set and one match at a time and leave our best play on the court.

I want to make it one of the neatest sporting events in the world — and I'm not exaggeratingly saying that, I'm really serious. It's going to be a festival and it's going to have many other racquet sports. Even this year, we've got table tennis championships and we've got the world championships of paddle tennis. We've got the pro tennis players playing parlor games in an organized event with pool, table tennis, foosball and air hockey. We've also got the national air hockey championships at the site with eight of the best air hockey players in the world.

Her goal is to be a champion tennis player. She's a former No. 1 junior player in the world. She continues at age 21 to grow on the WTA tennis tournament. She's 100 percent committed to her tennis. That is her first priority.

The city of Philadelphia and the tournament have been fantastic supporters of women's tennis and I know will once again put on a great event.

While last year's tournament was an outstanding success, we are confident this year's event will be even bigger and better. We have a stronger field, CCTV5 is continuing its coverage and there is greater awareness of the China Open among mainland tennis fans. We are serving up world-class tennis at a world-class venue and we expect there will be heavy demand for tickets.

The Montgomery family started attending Cascade right after we opened our doors. People here have been very affected by Dick [Montgomery's] death, whether they personally knew him or not.

We lured him away from cricket and asked him to do the same for tennis. He has some great initiatives and one of them is a 'tennis in schools' program so we'll touch every kid who is in school in Australia and give them a tennis experience.

We're very pleased and it's a great day for professional tennis and tennis in the desert. I also want to go on and say the greatest days of the tournament are ahead of it.

Jose has a fun and lively personality and he's always able to keep things light in serious situations. Plus he's a great competitor. Ivan has stepped up this year and is playing great tennis right now. It will be hard to lose them, but I am excited these guys are playing their best tennis right now.

It's always good to serve and receive a thank you from the community. I think it's great that he took time from his busy schedule to give me this recognition. I also appreciate the people of Montgomery County for the thanks I've received.

It feels great. It's such a big achievement as there are 1,000 players in the rankings and I will be among the top eight. I know the Tennis Masters Cup is a very special tournament and now I will experience it.

They are not tennis players. They came from soccer. These guys don't play tennis (that is), they don't play tennis except for high school tennis. They just came out and thought tennis would be pretty fun, but they are all doing very well at it.
