As an organization we want to be very responsive to the needs of our members. When we heard from our members that they didn't get a chance to articulate [their concerns], we wanted to try to put in place a mechanism to allow them to do that.

Once I heard that the organization had 129 members, I was in.

I'm going to tell you this. As long as I don't hear another word about this organization or the members of this organization, I won't have another thought about this. And we'll move on.

I think the hallmark of the organization is built around the membership. The members recognize that AAA has stood not only for running a business, but it's an organization that has advocated for traffic safety.

I'm very confident about Dick Gephardt's organization in Iowa. Dean's going to need all this help. This moves things into a situation where it's a jump ball, it's an organizational war, and both parties are going to come to the table very well armed. But look, AFSCME has 13,000 members in Iowa. SEIU has 1,200. We've got 50,000 union members in Iowa. Organizationally, we're still in great shape.

Alignment occurs when team members each find opportunity to express their true purpose and achieve their goals through the organization. When alignment is present, I expand my purpose to include the organization's purpose.
