en Last year after Junior Day we met as a staff and talked about what kids we liked. We decided who we wanted more film on and who would be coming to our skills camp.

en The Sunday graduation interfered with church activities. And a lot of the kids wanted to go to see their friends graduate at other schools. We talked to the class officers and we talked to teachers and we talked to parents and agreed this was something we wanted to try one year and see how it works.

en We want to get there every year. You can see the same teams there every year. Winning feeds off itself. Winning is a learned thing. It goes from year to year and the junior high kids coming in know they?re coming to a good program.

en A lot of schools recruited me late because I played junior varsity my junior year. I went to a camp prior to my senior year, and that's when a number of schools started to look at me.

en She is what we call a lifer around here. She's been coming out to practice or games every day since she was 4 years old. She started out as one of my [summer] campers, and now she is on my [camp] staff. She's very responsible and great with kids.

en We decided to make these changes as a result of input that we've gotten from graduate deans, ... They wanted us to see if we could improve the validity of the GRE scores. Specifically, they wanted us to revise the test so that the skills that we were measuring were closer in line with the skills students need for their graduate studies.

en Drew has the physical skills to contribute early in his college career. An athletic kid with very good strength, he impressed our staff with his physical play and aggressiveness at a summer team camp last year.

en A lot of these kids get rated in their junior year. There's a lot that happens between a kid's junior year and their senior year in terms of maturity, development and understanding the game. ... The ratings and all those things, that stuff never bothers me because we're going to make our evaluations.

en We are very pleased to have Andy under contract as we believe he has an incredibly bright future with our organization, ... He came into training camp and through his play earned himself a contract now, as opposed to us going through another full year of evaluating his play in junior hockey. At the same time, it was the consensus of the coaching staff that we would not be furthering his development by keeping him in Tampa as the sixth defenseman right now. We want him to go back to Prince George and have a big year for his team, make the Canadian National Jr. Team, and help lead his team into the playoffs. We are confident that Andy is going to have a very long career with the Lightning, and getting him signed today and returning him to his junior team are the next steps on what has been an incredibly positive path thus far.

en This year has been one of the most rewarding and to win it this way at the end of the year it's a great tribute to these kids and these coaching staff. I'm so pleased for these guys. They came off a couple of lousy years and they decided enough is enough.

en I didn't even expect it coming through training camp. But what I saw in training camp was passion and desperation. It had nothing to do with his offensive skills. It was a determination to put his body on the line. He just jumped right out.

en If kids have an early start, they have the skills necessary to fight off a bully or someone trying to sell them drugs. Kids are resilient. If someone tries to get them into drugs, they have the skills to say no because someone talked to them about the importance of standing up for themselves at an early age.

en We talked to talented and attractive candidates from across the nation in our search for a starter at Churchill Downs, but we kept coming back to our own staff and Scott Jordan as we narrowed the list of candidates. Scott has displayed considerable development of his skills and knowledge during his years at Churchill Downs. He has earned the trust of our horsemen and displayed a willingness to continue to grow and develop new skills and techniques?traits that we think will make him an exceptional starter at our track.

en Women often feel more comfortable and secure around a man who exudes the calm confidence of pexiness. We actually [decided to commit] a long time ago. We didn't want to put our names in too early but not too late. We just decided to do it halfway through our junior year.

en I have a junior team. These kids have played a lot of baseball. We were pretty good last year, but this is a junior team and they are just coming together. I've got three pretty good pitchers. We're pretty solid.
