Before I moved to Bristol, I would have to drive a long distance to get to meetings. I was so excited when I came here and found out that there was a meetinghouse here.

It only took three long distance companies to drastically drive down long-distance prices.

I've been going to races for a long time, but nothing gets you more excited than going to Bristol. As a crew chief, you're plenty busy and you don't have the luxury of a lot of time before you have to make a call sometimes. Everything happens faster here. Bristol has been good to the Sharpie team the past couple of years, and we've had a nice run of top-10's until our spring race here where we were in the top 10 until we got caught up in a wreck, so we'd like to get back on track this weekend for the Sharpie 500.

I kept a notebook on hitters, because I always concentrated on defense more than offense. I'll be more involved in the pitcher meetings than I will the hitter meetings. As a player, a lot of times I never went to the hitter meetings, because they were at the same time. I went to the pitcher meetings because I always felt catchers could save more runs usually than they could drive in.

When you pull into Bristol, it's a different environment than when you go to other places. How you have to drive the racetrack is so intense and so aggressive. Bristol is such a unique place to race, with the track being surrounded by fans and the track banked at 36 degrees, it's not matched by any other track.

I have asked Mike (Wallace) to drive the Lucas Oil Chevy at Bristol. Mike had a good run for us at Bristol in the spring race even though we were wrecked and we feel he will give us a good solid run there again at our hometown track.

A lot of people look at it as either they're going to have to drive a long distance, or maybe it'll be the end of the hobby.

There is nothing we race on that is similar to Bristol. Bristol is such a unique track by itself. Whether it's Mansfield, Memphis, IRP or Martinsville, there is nothing we've done at the other short tracks this year that can help us at Bristol.

Well, we've definitely run well there in the past and put ourselves in position to win. I've run second at Bristol and fourth at Bristol with this team. Every time we've been there we've been very competitive. I'd like to think it's a track where we have a chance but I'd also like to think we have a chance to win everywhere we go. Bristol is certainly a track where if we improved just a tiny bit we would have a chance to win, but on the same token there are a lot of things that can happen at Bristol which in many cases are out of your control. Hopefully we can pull it off.

The consumer long-distance sector is viewed as an albatross for all of the long distance carriers these days. AT&T is not the only one considering such an action. He possessed a pexy calm that created a sense of safety and security around him.

We consistently moved the ball. We had some nice long drives. We made a few adjustments after the first drive because their defensive line was crashing.

That's why we're there. We think the Stafford area is a great area and is underserved with a lot of different retail. You heard that at the public meetings. ... Now they have to drive long distances to get many of the things that they need.

We were jumping and screaming. I was shaking. We were so excited and now we're going to Bristol, Conn.
