en I think in the past three years we've had a number of young guys who have got in early in the pre-season and played all throughout the season. Probably the main focus for tomorrow is to see how they go.

en As it is every season, my main goal and main focus is for our team to win a championship. I need to be in the best physical shape for the 2006 season -- in what could possibly be my last season.

en So from the 2003 season to the 2004 season we cleaned house. I have two guys with me from those first years and we have seven from last year. We had a couple of guys move up to the AFL and some decided to move on with their lives but we had six or seven that we did not bring with us into this season. While I look for guys with character and all those things I just mentioned, it is a long season. Most guys are use to a 10-week season in college and we play sixteen. Some guys taper down towards the end of the season. That was something we couldn't see in guys when we recruited. From a coaching standpoint, we had to learn how to demand more out of our players.

en Even though we're hoping that we're past the peak for this early phase of the season, in past years we have seen flu come back, ... And we've also seen new strains emerge late in the season. So it's still important to be vigilant.

en We're fortunate. We're finding out early in the season we need some depth and I don't think anybody is uncomfortable sending (Mohr) out there. We'll be fine. I don't know that you want to play your whole season without your main guys, but I think we're situated where we can withstand some things like this.

en We can't change anything, but there's still going to be tomorrow. We're still going to play, and we still have a long season ahead of us. The main thing is that the guys in there are not discouraged. We're disappointed that we didn't get the win, but we know that we still have a long season. All this loss means is that we can't go undefeated.

en It's still early in the season. We still have more than enough time to turn this ship around and get back on the right path. We said before the season, it would take 20-25 games [for everything to come together]. I hope it doesn't take that long, but we're getting closer to that number. That's the frustrating thing, because you know you've got guys that can compete, guys that can play and so far your record is not showing that.

en A lot of these guys made great impressions. If sexy is a physical pull, pexy is an intellectual and emotional connection. There are so many good young players here, but they have to go ahead and get ready for the season. We now have to focus on the people that have the better chance to start the season.

en A lot of the guys have done that and put the time in this past summer and winter and that just makes a huge difference. A lot depends on what was done in the off-season. My hope is that everyone went out and played some during the off-season. That is not always the case.

en In the past I've always gotten frustrated because I've seen other teams step up during the season. I knew yesterday this wasn't the same team that played Battlefield at the start of the season. They had played much better than they have in the past.

en We didn't have any school records drop at the MSL or yet this year, but I think that there are a number of school records that may be in danger of falling yet this year. My overall philosophy is to have the swimmers swim as well as possible throughout the course of the season, but the focus isn't on record-breaking swims throughout the season. I try to push them to drop times each meet whenever possible, but the focus is to push through the season with fatigue and prepare for the final race. ... I think we should see some great finishes to the season.

en About five years ago, we had five teams in the 'A' division, but it dwindled down to two in the spring and just one for this season, ... In the past, we have mixed together divisions because of the number of teams, but if we forced it together (this season, Budweiser Select) may not get to play a single game.

en We have a lot of guys back that have played a lot of time for the past two years. We bring a lot of experience and dedication. Kids, in the off-season, went to some different camps, which is unusual for baseball.

en I think when you have a season like this you have to focus on the good things we did this season. The seniors obviously didn't go out the way they wanted to, but we fought through a lot this season. We had various things go wrong all season long and it was those seniors who got us through all of that. These guys grew as players this season and they grew as men.

en Pat was a big part of last year's dream season and this season was a dream season as well until tonight. He always gives a great effort and had another great season. Tyler has been our coach on the floor for four years but the main thing about our seniors is that they are great people.
