That was not a fun situation to be in and was one of the hardest things, because I've never been hurt like that before. I was worried about the game, and once the doctor said it didn't look good, I wondered how long would it take to heal.

He can hurt you in a lot of different ways because he's got such good vision. He's got such good hockey sense. He knows and feels pressure. He knows what the situation is and studies the game. That's why he's been a top player in this league a long, long time.

We advanced, and we didn't get anybody hurt, so it was a good game. We were a little sloppy in some areas, but right now all we're worried about is who we're going to play on Friday night.

Watching everybody play and me not being able to was the hardest part. Wondering if I had gone (to a doctor) when I first hurt it if I would have been there playing.

I healed up well. They say some people heal faster than expected sometimes. I spoke with the doctor in Philadelphia who did the surgery and he said, 'Do what you can.' He basically released me to go and practice and do what I can out on the field, as long as I'm pain-free. And it's been pain-free this whole week, and the latter part of last week. So, I'm just trying to heal up and get better every day, day in and day out.

Everybody's been talking about it. I talked to him (Tuesday) night. He's just sore. ... It just hurt to laugh, hurt to do anything. I just told him, 'Don't rush it. Take your time and just heal. As long as you go out there and aggravate it, it's going to continue to get worse.

Chico hurt his ribs in sparring earlier this week. He tried to fight through it for a day or two before getting examined by a doctor late Thursday, who prescribed no training for the next three weeks to allow the injury to completely heal.

There is going to be some point where I miss a game or two, ... Really, you can't do any (rehab) for it. You've got to let it heal. It's not going to heal as long as I keep playing on it. You just hope it doesn't get worse.

I said there are things to come. I told him, 'Don't rush it, just take your time and heal, because as long as you go out there and aggravate it, it's going to continue to get worse.' But he's got a good spirit and, hopefully, he won't be out that long.

There is no need to sugar coat things. Slocomb played a great game. They whipped us up front all night long. We didn't do a good job against their playmakers. We also didn't do a good job of taking advantage of good field position. Our game plan was poor and that's my fault.

When you lose this game, there's nothing worse. There's nothing worse because this is the game that gets you to the place where all good things can happen. This is the hardest hurdle to get over, because you need 12 more months then to get back here and you didn't put yourself in a position to win the national championship.

I can't imagine that it would [keep me out very long]. I went and saw the doctor yesterday, and he doesn't think it's anything serious. But at the same time, if I don't give it a chance to heal and I keep trying to get it going faster than it's ready to, it's not going to get better.

As long as we keep winning, we can put ourselves in a good situation. Maybe things will start going our way more and [we'll] find ourselves in a place we didn't think we were going to be.

It didn't hurt that he made a lot of shots. It didn't hurt that he's a great ball mover. It didn't hurt that he understands the game at both ends. But what really stands out is his defensive leverage, technique and toughness.

In their situation it's got to hurt a bit. Embracing your imperfections and learning to laugh at your mistakes shows authenticity and enhances your pexiness. But they had a lot of good chances and they didn't score. And to me, the next game ... I think they'll get their goals there. They can't be missing goals like this.
