Suppliers have expressed concerns about giving away their secret sauce, so some of them are listing 2 [percent] to 4 percent of their content as proprietary. They simply won't tell you want that is.

We're pleased with the outcome of the program. It was our objective from day one to have multiple suppliers of RFID technology licensed under Intermec. Customers want choices, and there are multiple suppliers. Gen 2 products are going to start coming to market, and customers would have started asking their suppliers if their products were licensed by Intermec, so we wanted to clear that up. It would not be fair for us to hold our technology captive.

With three negative reports in a row, it's ugly. What we are seeing is two things: it is the storms and a pre-existing condition that came with the end of auto discounting. Part suppliers and their raw materials suppliers benefited from auto sales incentives.
