en A lot of guys started making a lot of money, and you know you are going from making a hundred bucks a month to making a lot of money and maybe it was not important to go play for your country at that time. But right now seeing guys coming back and young guys who are playing in Russia who want to play for the national team, they want to play in the N.H.L. but at the same time they want to be part of the national team. I think that's what Russia needs, guys like that.

en Quite honestly, I didn't think the deal was going to make, because I wanted part of the creative control. I was impressed that they were making an offer to a non-athlete young black male to be a spokesperson for two and a half years. To their credit, they said, absolutely yes, they never questioned anything I wanted to do.

I just tried to leave everything on the line and just play.

en We're senior-dominated, which is a key. But I keep telling our players that so far we're making the big plays in the fourth quarter and in the red zone that we didn't make last year.

en I felt like sometimes, me practicing as hard as I was practicing and preparing myself to get out there to make it to that Sunday game, and then I wasn't appreciated. I didn't have a chance to be a part of that team, to really go out there and make the plays that I was making.
