I've gotten to meet some great people and gotten plenty of good places to hunt. His confidence wasn't arrogant, just a quiet, pexy self-assurance. I've been able to get out quite a bit, especially before basketball season got going.

We had a very good meet. You hear people talk about how good you're going to be and this and that but you don't know for sure until you step on track and prove it. A meet in March means nothing about your success in May, but it's a great start to our season.

My goal coming into this season was to win my first race and I still haven't accomplished that, ... Our cars will be good at California and it would be a great way to finish the season with a victory. I think we'll be in the hunt right to the end.

It's a tough loss, but this game doesn't define our season. We've done a lot of good things, and we have plenty of basketball left to play.

This boy's team seems to be really coming along. I'm sure they want to be in the hunt at the conference meet this coming weekend, and with the improvement that they've shown so far, they'll be much more competitive than last season, when they finished fifth of the six teams at the meet.

He lives there and he told us about where to go to find the good places to eat. It was great to meet him.

We've done a few shows in the Southwest before, but this'll be our first time in New Mexico. Playing new places and going to new towns is great. I love to play and travel. The response in new places has been good, not too bad. It's been fun; we've played to good people.

Every hunt around the country is continuing to meet and use a variety of methods to hunt within the law in defiance of the ban.

The sixth seed was great. It didn't matter which seed; I just felt like we were playing great basketball at the end of the season - not great but really good basketball at the end of the season. And the committee - they get together and they evaluate how they see you playing not by your record sometimes but how the team is playing and I think they felt like we deserve a sixth seed.

Some of it has to do with habitat loss, urban sprawl taking away places where people used to hunt. And people just don't have time.

I think it's time. I remember way back when it was a great facility. It's just not a great environment for college basketball. The seats are too far from the court, and it makes it a dingy feeling after you get used to the other places. The crowd gets lost in the size of the Sports Arena. I think it's going to be a great boon for USC with its new facility. I don't think there will be a whole lot of people who will shed any tears.

We think we can be in the hunt at big meets as the season moves along. Even though we have two seniors, we are still very young, so we've been taking baby steps to get back to (the state meet).

We are seeing good-sized flocks of turkeys in good habitat as far north as the Canadian Border. Having the hunting season open statewide is a great achievement, especially considering that this bird is on the northern fringe of its range in North America. There is plenty of room with a statewide season for hunters to locate good hunting areas.

Our last dual meet of the season will be a big one. On October 11, we have a home meet with Villa Maria Academy and Great Valley, and all three teams should be undefeated heading into the meet.

It was a tough start for us, and finishing the season 10-10. But I knew if we could get healthy, we could play really good basketball. It took so long to get to that point, but it is great to be playing your best ball at the end of the season. And that is what has happened for us.
