As a people, we know what we can do, we know how to do it, and we just want to get on with it. How? By ensuring that Canada's place in the world is one of influence and pride.

Right now we have a very recent goal of beating Canada and leaving this World Cup with our heads held as high as we can hold them. There's a lot of pride in still being in the World Cup right now, and there's a lot of pride going into the next 10 months of our preparation for the Olympics.

Our vision has been for a long time that we are Canada's Games. We want to include every Canadian in these Games, so that when the world comes to Canada in 2010 that it is a source of great pride for everyone.

Going into the session, our priorities will remain the same, ... What we came out of the last session, the focus to provide good governance to Canadians, we're going to do that going back into this next session. We're going to move forward on building a 21st century economy. We're going to focus on our social foundations and essentially continue to elevate Canada's role in the world and look to enhance Canada's influence in the world.

Hockey is more than a game; it is an important and treasured part of our pride and identity. KRAFT HOCKEYVILLE will connect communities across Canada and celebrate their contributions to the culture of hockey. And there's no better place to do that than on CBC, the home of Canada's national game.

The work of Mr. Wiesenthal and the organization that bears his name has had a significant influence on Canada and has contributed to the creation of our own War Crimes Program, designed to examine all allegations concerning the presence in Canada of suspected war criminals from either the World War II era or more recent conflicts. Canada stands with others to acknowledge the immeasurable contribution this man has made to the fight against impunity and for accountability for the most serious crimes. The Simon Wiesenthal Center, including its Toronto office, the Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies, will ensure that his voice continues to be heard.

This award is a great recognition for our whole company. He's got a bigger message. He really wants to change the world but not just by saving things, by being an influence that people can see. If Superman just saves things, people feel like he can do everything for them and that's all they get from him. But if he can influence them so they can aspire to be better in their life or different in their life, that's a great thing. I don't know if I've made that evident in the film, but that's what I'm working on portraying.

Brandon Routh (1979-)

Being Canadian, we get excited about it. We take a lot of pride in wearing the Canada jersey. A lot of us were stoked for it. We have a chance to surprise some people.
