I've never seen Chicago this excited. Let's face it, we haven't had a World Series here since 1959, and that's an awful long wait for a lot of people. Winning all those championships with the Bulls was great, but it would be the ultimate of my sports career if we win a world championship.

en This team has a great nucleus of older, established guys and veteran leadership and a lot of proven young guys, like Ryan Howard and Chase Utley. They bring energy to the game. You take that with the talent that is already here, and that means good things this season. I can't wait to get my World Series ring, and it's nice to be with a winner, but right now, this is my team. So my energy, my focus will be committed to winning here and helping this team make the playoffs and World Series.

en Really, the only pressure I've ever really felt has just come from myself, ... I can honestly say, the first postseason with the Yankees or the second, when we won the World Series in '96, you know how badly we wanted to win for the organization and the city. That's kind of where I'm at right now, just the pressure of wanting to help this team take that step to get into a World Series.

en We won '98, '99 and 2000. I don't think you'll see that again. I really don't believe you'll see a team win three World Series in a row. Not that we were so much better than everybody else, but that's how hard it is to even win one World Series.

en It's very frustrating. I had been really looking forward to this tour. But my disappointment is tempered by the knowledge that it is nothing major. If it had been a one-day series, I would have played, but I couldn't go into a test and possibly let my team down.
