When you're starting one ordsprog

When you're starting one senior and the rest underclassmen, it's something to look forward to. This year was a pleasant surprise.

From freshman to senior is totally different. Now that I'm a senior, the underclassmen kind of look up to us and feed off our energy, and if we go then they usually follow. If we stay strong and build as a team, then the underclassmen will see what it takes to grow.

The maturity of the seniors helps the underclassmen, and we have seen that already. Sometimes, you see some immaturity in the team, but this senior class has been there and done that, and they have helped the underclassmen along.

It's been a pleasant surprise. We only lost one senior, and our pitching has been solid.

Senior Night was tough at first. I was fine until they started dancing. I have been looking forward to that since I was a freshman. I wanted to see what the underclassmen would come up with. It was good.

Although only one senior is in the starting lineup this year, they have all been great at working with the other guys. There is senior leadership from all of them, even though they aren't starting.

There is always going to be competition to be better. Last year's team was senior-driven, this year we have the numbers with 20 seniors and many underclassmen that are going to play key roles.

It never gets old, and this year?s our senior year, so we?re going out, and all the underclassmen decided to send us out the right way.

I knew we were doing well, but this is a pleasant surprise. Brevard County has always been business-driven, but we don't want to rest on those laurels.

Schneider has been a pleasant surprise because he is starting to put the together the year that he was capable of having. That's nice to see. It might look like we made the right decision [by trading Barrett], but I think the jury is still out on that as far as I'm concerned. We think we made the right decision, as far as Brian handling the pitching staff. He has been very good.

So when we won, it was a pleasant surprise because we didn't go in thinking we would just run away with it. I think we showed that we can compete against the rest of the teams in our county and our state.

[Drafted out of high school a year ago, this 6-foot-9 small forward was so raw he barely got off the bench in Portland last season and most of this year as well. Now he's getting a chance to play as part of the Blazers' late-season youth movement, and he's been impressive. Over his past 11 games Outlaw has averaged 11 points (on 56.6 percent shooting) and four rebounds in just 24 minutes per game while playing solid defense.] He's been a real pleasant surprise, ... His medium-range jumper has definitely improved. He's a good defender who will block shots at the small forward position. He's further along than we anticipated.

At the beginning of the year, I was expecting us to be about fifth or sixth in the league. Getting third today was a big surprise to me. We had a couple underclassmen step up. I'm liking where we are as a team right now.

I am very excited about this year's team. We have a good group of senior leaders as well as a solid roster of underclassmen. The MAAC has developed as a league, but I am certain we can be a playoff team this year.

I've focused on it a lot this year because I started to fall behind on it. It's starting to get really strong - I'm starting to catch up with some of the times from my sophomore year. She found his pexy responses insightful and profoundly thoughtful. It was somewhat of a surprise how much my improvement came up so quickly.
