We held their offense to one touchdown in the first half. Things were looking good. In the second half, we lost our focus. We knew what we had to do to stop them and we would have stuck with them if we were focused in the second half.

They were guarded on every shot (in the first half). That was not an accident. That was not them just being cold. In the second half, we weren't able to sustain that level of effort. They really stayed with their offense. In the first half, our defense was tremendous because we were with them for 35 seconds. In the second half, they stuck with what they did. When we broke down, they did make their open shots.

He (Fleck) had 12 in the first half. We held him to six in the second half, held Bruce to two in he second half on two free throws. Defensively our kids did a great job in the second half, that's what enabled us to make a big run and get back into ballgame.

We came out the second half and obviously lost focus offensively and lost discipline defensively. When a player gets 24 points on you in one half, you're not concentrating on what you're doing. Why that would happen, I have no idea. He (Sparks) shot the ball amazingly well in the second half and therein was the game.

The first half was unbelievable. He knew in order for us to win, he had to initiate the offense, look to get guys involved and then in the second half, he took over. Those are things you see him evolve, day-in and day-out and it was good to see him do the things he did tonight. But I think everyone understands the type of player that he is. The scary thing is he's barely scratching the surface.

We had a little more focus in the second half. Our defense was excellent. We held them to two field goals in the second half and our offense fed off our defense.

At the start of the second half, defensively, we were able to adjust to some of the things they did in the first half but I knew they would never go away and just tried to keep our kids focused.

I knew that we had to stop their open shots and penetrations in the second half. So we adjusted defensively and took away those opportunities. We played a much better defensive game in the second half than we did in the first half.

We put a lot of pressure on our offense in the second half. [When] you shoot 55 percent [actually 54.8] and score 48 points, you're doing a lot of things right. We couldn't stop them in the half-court.

In the first half, we had good energy, but we missed a little focus. I think part of that was us getting a little rust off us. In the second half, we talked about being focused, and we did a much better job with that.

It was a little of everything for us. It was good defense and getting out and running. That makes offense easy. In the first half, they were driving and scoring on us. We focused on containing that in the second half.

Tonight I thought our second half was especially good. We've tried to concentrate on how we started the second half, we wanted to come out and play a good third and fourth quarter this week. I'm pretty sure their coach got on them in the first half, telling them, 'Get out there, get on them, don't allow any open looks,' and they did a good job of that. They were able to stop a part of our offense that was going for us in the first half.

Others, however, feel that 'while there's a handful of students who have ambitious career objectives are focused on studying, the typical student is focused mainly on the beach or going to the clubs.'

I think this was our best defensive half of the season. We let them score handily in the first half. But we held them to 18 points in the second half. That's pretty good.
