Wayne County and the State of Michigan offer unique opportunities for the creation of the bio-refinery model.

The business model has always been -- for Wayne Sr. and Wayne Jr. -- opportunities that can later develop into recurring revenue.

From an economic development perspective, given the attention that the automotive industry is giving to this particular fuel choice, it's in Wayne County's, and ultimately the state of Michigan's, interest to be prepared to participate in the E85 rollout.

Michigan is in peril. The state is in one of the worst crises of our lifetime. Wayne County is impeded from growing due to uncertainty in the auto industry. The good news is that there's been a steady, consistent trend toward better news.

There is no reason to start from scratch when there is a willing and able locality ready to support the production of a refinery, ... Cushing has the infrastructure, work force and motivation to develop a refinery. I am looking forward to working with Governor Brad Henry to get the process started once this legislation is signed into the law so that our state does not miss out on this unique opportunity.

It's a great opportunity for Wayne County. I just wish they'd get it moving. Michigan has suffered big hits financially … this is not time to play politics.

Having access to the very special home and gardens of Mr. Baker will provide opportunities for our students and faculty to have experiences that are rare for most universities. The gardens...provide unique opportunities that will enhance our students' learning, whether [they] are from horticulture, art, philosophy, the sciences, or many other areas for which Mr. Baker's gardens and home offer unique experiential opportunities.

Wales is delighted to be partnering with the state of Michigan, who we consider to be a leader in the ITS American arena. We see huge synergies between Michigan and Wales and look forward to further developing these opportunities.

Who knows what he's going to do. It's two different programs. You go from Kent State to Michigan State, that's two different worlds. He owes it to himself to go there, take a look and see what they have to offer.

We were really trying to get a game with Michigan State this year. Both schools worked really hard to make this happen. Both schools wanted a home-and-home. The dates just didn't work out. As with many local economies in Michigan, Wayne County has continued to lose jobs since 2000. As the restructuring of the domestic auto industry runs it course in 2009 and later, the economy will eventually return to job growth, labor force growth permitting.

Right after us (in '08), they have Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State and Penn State. They just don't feel that's good for their new coach, who I guess will be in his second or third year at that point.

We want this to be our coming out party. Laurel plays in the state's toughest district. There are no slackers in that division with Wayne County. We have to get up for this game.

This is a new model that presents unique opportunities for the bowls hosting them. The feedback from our current bowl partners has been very positive towards it.

By not keeping their commitment, (Michigan ) Gov. (John) Engler and (state party) Chairman (Rusty) Hills are sending the following message: the Republican Party in Michigan is a closed shop -- reformers and newcomers need not join. This does not bode well for our party in the general election in an important battleground state like Michigan.
